How do I use Zombify effectively? I saw a deck on YouTube in a gold ranked match yesterday and it used zombify to cheat a 12/12 green dinosaur that when summoned cheats out every single creature in hand, but he ended up milled to death and losing anyways. Compared to this single activation, my Zombify always fews inconsistent and mediocre and like I need to activate it many times to do anything. What cards do I go after, by opening packs and crafting, to build a deck that can properly break zombify?

Where do I find cheap decks? Like for new players? I've gotten to silver with the default Vampiric Hunger one but I want to try a monoblue deck to learn the game more thoroughly.

You can just mash together whatever cards are in your collection, but as a F2P building an actual 'deck' is typically going to require either doing a lot of drafts to both get cardboard and also build up equity, or being very patient with your dailies.

But you need to have the constant mindset of "oh, I wish this card was X instead of Y" or "having two of this would be really nice right now" without getting bogged down into results-oriented thinking. If your deck is super inconsistent pure variance will lead to situations where a card you shouldn't be running is phenomenal because it's unexpected/you get lucky. Consistency has consistent weaknesses, but you also get much better at understanding your deck's plan and how to navigate situations when you aren't trying to Heart of the Cards your way out of problems.

Mockingbird, Drake hatcher, Currator of Destinies + another 4+ mana mythic, Kiora. 4x opt or Sleight of Hand, 4-6x Countespell spells, 4x 1 mana Unsummon, Bounce off... spells, 3x some draw card spell like stock up, or flow state. Fill the rest with creatures that do something as you cast spells. 2 mana max. Whatever is available to your or cheap to craft. Brineboard Cutthroat, Elementalist Adept, Aquatic Alchemist, Ilvoi Operative, Mischievous Mystic....
Congrats, you have a budget prowess deck. If you have fun with it, craft 4x Stormchaser's Talent. With 4x Boomerang Basics, it'll increase it's power tremendously.

There's some enchantments at common and uncommon that will turn creatures into like a 0/1 or prevent it from untapping or lose all abilities or some combination of them.

Gave current powered cube a try. Competition was weak as hell, probably because they reset me to gold. At least WR isn't heads and shoulders better than everything anymore.

Card drawing spells will keep your hand full, and you have some more expensive drops that can swing the battle for you if match drags out. Stormchasers Talent will increase decks power, but only slightly. You need to play it in combination with Red to have a proper Izzet prowess deck. Mono Blue lacks haste creatures, pump up spells, and very cheap removal that really makes Izzet prowess a menace. But you most probably don't have the lands to play that yet. All dual lands must be untap lands in a speed deck like that. All of them are rare, because wizards are evil.

Pardon my newfagginess, but isn't this evaluation completely wrong? At five mana (hence X=1, 3+2R) it deals five damage (5 x 1 = 5) to ONE target (X=1)? Or am I missing something very important here, why does this guy say it's "three times five damage"? This card seems absolutely horrendous unless you're paying X=2, then it's good

I used your guy's advice and got to gold pretty easily. Should I keep upgrading this deck or try to add in red? At what point does it make sense to learn draft?
>>98162968 It doesn't look like jeskai is getting banhammered anytime soon, so just start by crafting 6 rare blue/red untap lands, then you can start adding burst lighting, haste creatures, and pump up spells.
>>98162968 Draft is it's own environment in a lot of ways. There's constructed players who never draft, there's draft players who never play constructed. The best way to learn is through trying it out, but you might want to watch some videos to see the mechanics and basic strategy. More advanced things like looking for signals of what colors are being taken by other drafters or knowing the metagame of the draft environment come later.

My best cards are probably Boomerange Basics since it's so versatile and cheap, and Stormchaser's Talen/Razzle-Dazzler for enabling the deck. The worst is probably Chart a Course since it works so awkwardly with my desire to cast before combat. Blossombind sucks too; it isn't worth the extra mana over Ringing Strike Mastery I just didn't have enough wildcards.

In Bo3 it'd probably get destroyed but blind stacking/aggro seems really good in Bo1 because it's so easy to end the game quickly by messing up a single one of their spells or them just not drawing well. But with Bo3 you'd be able to mulligan much more effectively and sideboard in cards to slow things down or boardwipe or whatever.
>>98164306 The rank goes bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, and mythic. Once you're in mythic it gives you your percentile ranking unless you're in the top 500. The higher you go, the fewer pips towards a rank you gain on a win and the further you can de-rank by losing repeatedly. Every month or so they reset the ranks and knock everyone down a tier or two.
