While this is a neat design, all of Thor's best stories had him in his classic look (except Alone Against the Celestials).
>>
>>11707433
what in the fuck is this face sculpt
>>
>>11707425
So why are they like this instead of doing Quicksilver/Scarlet Witch and Black Widow/Hawkeye?
>>
>>11707551
tbqh, it's his best costume.

>>11707433
Put ravenger thors head on this and it’s a perfect mcu thor
>>

>>
>>11707648
It's pretty stupid that they didn't include it, especially since they've already made one, but at the same time, I have the piece myself and I've never been able to get a good pose with it.
>>
>>11707648
Personally I’m over accessories. Give me an appropriately expensive head, a set of fisted hands and a hand with the hammer sculpted in. Keep all the other bullshit I’ll realistically never fuck use
>>
>>11707580
Because they intend to pair Scarlet Witch with Vision
>>
>>11707686
Yeah and while we're at it, eliminate all that pesky articulation, I'll never use it. Just make a pre-posed figure that I can put on the shelf and never think about again

That feels a bit odd since the other world's Vision's body had been around for a few years before that, but it counts as a previously unmade look used during The Crossing.

Preordered Darveil and Absorbing Man. Interested in Falcon and Magik, but I wanna get that Muse double pack too
>>
>>11707840
The Muse pack doesn't go up for almost another month.
>>
>>11707797
It isn't the sole reason but you'd be stupid to think that it doesn't factor into final cost
>>
Got Daredevil and Magik. I'm good.
>>
>>11707849
Of course I know that it factors in. But to think that pulling out some hands and a head would bring the price down in any significant way is just hoping.
>>
Muse and Bullseye is kind of a double-edged sword for me. All the leaks said it would be the Born Again versions, and while I'm glad to have a comic Muse, that Bullseye is lame as fuck and now it's a classic two-pack where I only want one figure, whereas I did really want a live action Bullseye.

I can't comprehend otherwise what scenario occurred because they are all rather improbable.

What we know is the Psylocke preorder dropped in summer 2025 with a preorder that sold out extremely fast. Street Date hits July 20, 2025. The stores get swept over quickly at release. Then nothing for months. Then the December/January batch hits stores. She never appears in stock on the website again until February 10th suddenly and stays in stock even now.

So where did all these units come from? Where were they after the initial July madness?

Rerunning Psylocke through the factories would cost a ton to set the assembly line for them up again--and so soon after the first run--so I am highly skeptical of that avenue. Insiders have said setting up an assembly line to redo a figure is very expensive and that is why companies don't do 2nd runs that often. Usually it would be a few years down the road (which ML has had), but not 6 months later.

So if it wasn't a rerun, were they just sitting in a warehouse not being offered? I find that highly wasteful of warehouse space which also doesn't make sense. If that was true they could've put these on the website in July, August, September, October, November, December, or January. Why wait so long?

Were they stuck in some shipping hell somewhere in Nigeria trying to outwait tariffs?
>>
>>11708228
Hasbro reran it. It's not that complicated. Because toys are the lowest priority for retailers, online stock showed up after the in store restock. You're just thinking too much into it.

It's been fun watching your collection grow anon. We don't get that nearly enough anymore around these parts. Keep at it. Glad you're enjoying the figs.
>>
>>11708731
Thanks, anon. I'm glad someone else is getting enjoyment out of the wildly irresponsible way I've chosen to use my tax return this year. The process of hunting down every figure for the best price I can has been fun and I just had a bunch of stuff delivered that I'm looking forward to unboxing over the next few days. I'll keep posting figures as I open them in the hopes of inspiring others to do the same. Every general on this board needs more toyposting.

>Thanks, anon. I'm glad someone else is getting enjoyment out of the wildly irresponsible way I've chosen to use my tax return this year.
I mean, when you think about it, most of these things tend to appreciate in value, well at least the big name characters, like the ones you picked. I recently priced out my SHF DBZ collection and was blown away how expensive some of these figures have gotten, even opened and used. Every time I feel bad about how much I've dropped on my collection I just think about how expensive some of these figures are and how I could easily make what I invested back. But then at the same time, I generally don't care of the monetary aspect of it, I was just curious about my DBZ collection after one of my friends mentioned how much it probably has appreciated in value.

>The process of hunting down every figure for the best price I can has been fun and I just had a bunch of stuff delivered that I'm looking forward to unboxing over the next few days
Yeah, the hunt aspect can be really fun. For me though, I'm more in a place where I've kind of gotten everything I've wanted from my backlog so now I just collect stuff that's newly released, place a pre-order, forget about it for a few months, and then get the toy in one day randomly.

>I'll keep posting figures as I open them in the hopes of inspiring others to do the same. Every general on this board needs more toyposting.
Truth. I just scrolled through the thread, and it looks like you and I are the only ones who have actually posted their own toys. It's sad.

>>

>I mean, when you think about it, most of these things tend to appreciate in value, well at least the big name characters, like the ones you picked.

You make a good point and that was the main motivator for just picking up everything I'm after now. I had to pay the late tax on 97 Magneto, Storm and Nightcrawler, but that wasn't going to get any better and I didn't want to count on reissues that may or may not happen.

Funny that you used your SHF DBZ figures as an example though: when I decided I had money in the budget to get into a new line, that was the other contender. I ended up going with X-Men stuff because, like you said, some of those older figures have gotten quite pricy. They look fucking awesome though (purple jacket Trunks has been tempting me for a long ass time) and I hope your collection brings you joy.

>I'm more in a place where I've kind of gotten everything I've wanted from my backlog so now I just collect stuff that's newly released, place a pre-order, forget about it for a few months, and then get the toy in one day randomly.

Yeah, that's where I am with everything else I collect and where I want to be with the muties now that I'm past the initial buy-in. I don't want to whine about having too many toys to open, but it does kind of start to feel like a job if you try to do too many at once.

>>
>>11708766
>You make a good point and that was the main motivator for just picking up everything I'm after now.
Yeah, some of those X-Men figures, like you said, are already going up in price. If you want them now's the time, so you did good.

>I ended up going with X-Men stuff because, like you said, some of those older figures have gotten quite pricy
Yeah, I jumped onto the SHF DBZ line around the time Kid Goku and Goku Black were getting released. I had to go back and grab some older figures that had previously released, but luckily I never paid too much for any of them. Most expensive one at the time was I think $80, so standard import prices by today's standards lol. Most I paid for a DBZ fig though was $140 for one of the Convention Exclusive Broly's. The previous two versions were already in the $300 territory and this was before they started soliciting the con exclusives on P-Bandai. I felt a little bad about paying that much, but I rationalized it out as being cheaper than actually going to SDCC and getting it there. Plus it was a grail at the time. Now he goes for $250 to $300 so I'm alright. Still, it's pretty nuts to see how much some of those P-Bandai figs go for nowadays. Glad I got the Ginyus at retail because they go for stupid prices now.

>I don't want to whine about having too many toys to open, but it does kind of start to feel like a job if you try to do too many at once.
I've had a stack of toys, with some things being over a year old that I'm still working on opening. It's rough, especially when you're unmotivated by depression and shit.

So some of the psylocke Thanos packs might of been defective or blemished. My psylocke has bad flash and some bubbles in the plastic that are black. I'll take pics after work and before I return it.

Lovely, this 2 pack has severe monkey paw elements.

I get what you mean, but it would've been nice to have alternate arms, alternate hands or an alternate head that are painted and textured to look like stone or steel like the previous one had. These components would indicate that he is, you know, absorbing things.
>>

Yeah but this way they can later sell you an alternate version where he's half concrete or something

Hasbro tends to not get many details about upcoming media when they are asked to do figures to tie in. That's why often times you'll see concept art designs for movie figures when they're pushing them to release alongside the movie and later releases will be more screen accurate. Hasbro was probably just given the character model sheets and told to go at it for X-Men 97 without knowing the context of what the characters would be in.

This is my assumption as well though. He's a villain they could sell early without straight up spoiling plot details like if they'd made Bastion right off the bat. And while he shelf warmed due to being an obscure character who plays a fairly minor role in the series he's from, I do actually like him as a regular sized mook to pit the X-Men against. Apparently Betsy is 5'11 in both bodies, so pretty tall for a woman
That said canonical heights are almost meaningless because few artists takes them into account, so unless being unusually tall or short is a specific part of the character's description they'll likely just draw them as whatever height they feel like

>>11712030
Someone at Marvel really likes to push this suit.
>>
>>11712361
To be fair it's an easy recolor of Iron Spider. Amazing Yamaguchi did one as a variant to their Iron Spider. It is cool to see that Hasbro redid the torso to be accurate to Aaron's suit since the spider is different than on the one Peter wore during Civil War, going off the art I just looked up. AY just recolored theirs so it's technically inaccurate. They needed to redo the shoulders though, they look kinda weird.
>>
>>11712361
I don't think it's someone pushing these so much as the team needing an excuse to get the most money out of the molds
>>
>>11712371
Yeah, I meant Iron Spider as a whole, you see it show up in merch all the time, not just toys, but I don't know anyone into it. Then again, CW anniversary is coming up.

>>11712373
Fair.
>>
>>11712386
I mean, before the AY came out it had been years since anyone gave that costume a proper figure. Even if it showed up in cartoons and games, I remember I had the old Marvel Select on my shelf for the longest time. I remember waiting years for a good replacement until the Revo came out. But yeah, now we've gotten it from AY, Hasbro has done three of the characters who have worn the costume now, I think Hot Toys did one based off the game version. So, we have gotten it a bunch recently.
>>
Sorry for being totally ignorant here, but is it at all realistic that we're going to get figures of either of these VenoMJs? About how long does it take for "new" characters to get confirmed figures?

I just want to make sure I'm timing it right to preorder if it comes about.
>>
>>11712613
Remember when the symbiote was just a thin liquid over a person and not just literally anything?
>>
>>11712613
They seem to be doing a lot of fairly recent spider characters lately, so it's probably not unrealistic to expect that one in the near future
>>
>>11711765
>>11711784
>>11711787
He's worth it it you can find the space for him, though I do wish I had picked him up for the original preorder price.

>>11712040
Kek, she's doing her best. I was trying to do something approximating her flying pose in the intro, but it didn't come together quite right. It's somewhat accurate to the cartoon's wonky flight physics at least.
>>
>>11712623
>Image is the symbiote being a thin liquid over a person
what the hell is your point
>>
>>11712623
It literally stopped being that nearly the moment Venom debuted as a character. It was only ever a thin liquid over a person on Peter before he rejected it. Venom made Eddie Brock insanely huge.

>>11712635
I did see Spider-Boy when I took a trip to Target not too long after he got his book, so I'd been thinking of that. But making a VenoMJ isn't as straightforward as a masked Spider-person... her head can't exactly swap since it's supposed to be located in his chest. I'd love it if they did something interesting, but I'm wondering if we might just see a gold symbol Venom without any specific MJ stuff. At least until the slimmer, newer costume.
>>
>>11712623
Remember when you were a baby and weighed eight lbs and now you're an adult baby that weighs 400 lbs? Things change.

Hoverchair Xavier has been permanently discounted on BBTS for awhile, so I picked him up and put Savage Land Xavier in the seat because I like the look of that figure a lot better. Pretty happy with the end result.
>>
>>11712895
>permanently discounted
I mean, I guess $32 when Hasbro was asking $50+ is "discounted" but I think most people are thinking the $69 Gamerverse Thanos/Psylocke being clearanced at $10 as 'discounted.'
I just want Professor X's suited body to have a suited body, but not for $30+
>>
>>11712965
>Thanos/Psylocke being clearanced at $10 as 'discounted
When did that happen
>>
>>11712965
It's almost $20 off. I genuinely don't know why you have to be such a negative Nancy all the fucking time. Even when a toy is almost $20 cheaper than normal you still find a way to complain. My God, you must be insufferable to be around.
>>
>>11712970
Never
>>
>>11712986
Not him, but they were clearanced at one point after they were restocked in store. Pic is too blurry to tell what the price actually was but they did get hit with the yellow sticker of shame.
>>
>>11712987
I'd chalk that up to the shit distribution system where some stores never get the product, while stores like that pic get 20 cases.
>>
>>11712987
Would've been nice if they actually hit stores. Because I sure as fuck never saw it.
>>
>>11713010

So what's the hate for these besides that one of the re-used bodies is older and that some hate both paint jobs/designs or both of those things. I'm putting up a corner fire escape shelf unit that I am only putting Spider-Man on and want some inexpensive Army Builder/background players but these were still $15.99, I'd rather pay get some used decent figures if these are crap as far as articulation?

Thanks, in advance for your serious opinions and hate.

Why don't sculpts look this detailed anymore in modern toys? Is it really the digital sculpting that is screwing everything up?
>>
>>11713887
Ok, thanks for your input
>>
>>11713966
It's not the sculpt so much as the paint. That Vermin has a noticeable wash that brings out the detail. A lot of toy companies have become too cheap to do this, so even though the detail is similar a lack of paint keeps it from standing out.
>>
>>11713941
>>11713938
Mole Man makes way more sense, since he's been on the leak list as a deluxe for a long time and it would be weird to pack in an accessory that specific and big for a D-tier villain like Vermin
>>

I got the Hellfire Gala Spidey for cheap a while ago and still haven't gotten around to opening it. My backlog of figures is bad right now, but I am waiting for new tackle boxes to get delivered before I go on an opening spree. It's just the Renew Your Vows mold again, which is a fine mold, we've just seen it a million times by now, so it's nothing special, at least the design is cool looking, even if it comes from the worst X-Men era. Certainly not a bad figure. And then I don't have the gamerverse figure, I think most of the original costumes that came out for the game are hot garbage, this one included.

Yeah, need/want some background SM figures for one of those fire-escape ladders and one shelf, but it looks like I can pick up more interesting used SM like Negative Zone B&W or Future Foundation on auctions for like $8-$11, and if I buy from someone who has two or three of these selling, like someone is this week, the postage won't rape me. It should come out, per toy, to about the $13 I paid for that gamerverse.

It's just a bit ugly and def uninteresting shade of the classic R/B color scheme. If it was that dark blue anti-venom or lighter blue mutli-color, would easily keep one for background.

But PICREL is either MSRP + postage or scalper pricing only.

Too bad for me that it turned out to be a fucking great figure. Oh well. Ya win some, ya lose some. As for which is my favorite? Probably the Mafex 075. It's just kind of my ideal Spidey. But he's the centerpiece of my display and I don't play around with him too much. My go to to mess around with is either Maximum or Renew Your Vows. I switch off depending on how I feel.

And they also gave this Iron Spider nibba new torso and new heands. They bothered enough to resculpt his torso to be more accurate, but refused to resculpt Abomination's ripped shorts into trunks and give him fists. It's so bizzare do see some completely random figure nobody asked for, the type of figure that just screams bargain bin, get more attention to details than a highly demanded character. Yeah, I get it that we won't see another Aaron Davis figure, but it's not like we're swimming in Abominations either. There will come a time soon when there will be no more discourse, and all threads will only be jeet bots and contend shills complimenting each other, stuck in an endless reply mining feedback loop.
In some threads we're already more than halfway there. Don't ask me how I know because all I can give you is a trust me bro.

Lmao what? The sentiment I get here is in fact the opposite. No one likes the new shit. Even the most modern stuff that's praised by people here is like twenty years old. From what I can tell most of the users here are 90s fans. I genuinely haven't seen anyone praise a single Marvel comic that's come out in the last like ten years, at least.

I used to like picking up some cool looking Z-lister that I know nothing about to make up my own shelf OC for cheap. But these days even Z-listers are expensive. Nothing bins anymore with Amazon and its annoying variable price gouging also

We used to say we'd just wait for stuff to show up at Ollie's but honestly they haven't gotten anything in a while. My local store is still so loaded with Eternals shit that no new waves have shown up.

I really do. Logan's my favorite X-Mans, but I find working him into the iconic poses a bit of a struggle at the moment. I've been looking at some old covers from the 80s and 90s that I want to try recreating with the appropriate toys over the weekend, so hopefully that will help me get a better feel for it.

Was it $180 when first released? I'm almost certain it was $120?

I just paid $11 for Tarantula. Also, Crystar is a z lister but kind of a big deal to get in toy form so it's not surprised he's sold out.
>>

They know that people will pay any price
>>
>>11717429
Is all you do complain about price?
>>
>>11717430
All i did was answer why the price went up on the figure
>>
>>11717432
You guys just complain about the price of fucking everything now. It doesn't even matter what brand. It's annoying.
>>
>>11717439
My favorite part is how they try to shame anyone who's willing and able to actually pay. It's like
>How dare you buy the thing I can't afford
>>
Man, I love 97 Cable.
>>
>>11717448
I mean if you want to get scammed by scalpers, nobody's gonna stop you tho :/
>>
>>11717372
He was $150 originally. And a lot has changed in the world since the first release, so another $30 isn’t that surprising.
>>
>>11717585
You're not helping anyone, you're just being annoying.

>>11717591
Sounds about right. A $30 increase isn't terrible considering how much everything else has gone up in price, so it's not the end of the world. Still, I remember people being pretty disappointed with this when it originally came out.

Creator's pet with editorial pull. Also fanbase threw a bitchfit whenever it was going to be canned.
>>
>>11717609
Remember, we're not allowed to be disappointed in aspects of a product here on toy. You yourself enforced a 'no complaints about price' stance, so you need to avoid any other complaints which might annoy the collectors of this figure.

Why do you faggots acts like such fucking women?
>>
>>11717702
The true stoic would not have such a loud outburst of cursing in response. That is showing weakness. Project strength by discussing Mezco's Dr Doom rerelease in a civil manner.

Shut up Karen
