>Most masculine movie?
Some of those action flicks without any heroine or even female love interest. Die Hard, maybe.
>Most feminine film?
Something with cute girls, possibly lesbians, definitely with some sexual energy. Daisies, unironically, works.

I'm pretty sure Die Hard does have a damsel in distress. Maybe Conan the Barbarian would be more fitting, if you're going for that angle.

If you can feel empathy for evil then that means there's good (in you and the world) and if there's good then that means life is worth it? Idk i'm not a philosopher, but something will always be better than nothing i think.
>>

>>219490099
>Emotional empathy
Maybe in the future, for now I'm a hater. I've got insane amounts of cognitive empathy though, and that means I can read people like books and understand them and their deepest feelings with ease. I think I could turn the table upside down and use my gift for good (for a change) instead of using it just to destroy people.
>Life is worth it
I guess so.

I'm halfway through Mektoub 2 (took a break to eat).
Do you think Amin and Tony are really that naive, or do they know they’re being played?
Also, what do the actress and the producer actually get out of this? I don't buy that they’re doing it just for free food and drinks, and it doesn't seem like they were forced into it either. Are they just sociopaths playing with people's dreams?

I've got a piracy cable TV / streaming platform that has a catalog of like 1000 films (and constantly adding), and they have a pretty decent arthouse / classics section. It's about 8 bucks a month, which is pretty decent imo. That, and there are 4 arthouse / classics / cult theatres really close to where I live, including one which is free admission.

A few wrinkles couldn't put a damper on the sort of warmth and radiance she projected, and those beautiful eyes never stopped twinkling even till the very end. I doubt that. It's strong point's are of a technical nature. Visual effects, cinematography, editing. Those things don't go out of fashion like plotpoints and even themes do. That's why you see stuff with strong messages and a story focus go in and out of favour with the Zeitgeist, but not something like 2001, or even Citizen Kane (whose whole narrative is so amateurishly bad that I don't buy anyone puts it in any toplist for any other reason than for posturing).

>This movie doesn’t scrape the bottom of the barrel. This movie isn’t the bottom of the barrel. This movie isn’t below the bottom of the barrel. This movie doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with barrels.
>Many years ago, when surrealism was new, Luis Bunuel and Salvador Dali made “Un Chien Andalou,” a film so shocking that Bunuel filled his pockets with stones to throw at the audience if it attacked him. Green, whose film is in the surrealist tradition, may want to consider the same tactic. The day may come when “Freddy Got Fingered” is seen as a milestone of neo-surrealism. The day may never come when it is seen as funny.
>The film is a vomitorium consisting of 93 minutes of Tom Green doing things that a geek in a carnival sideshow would turn down. Six minutes into the film, his character leaps from his car to wag a horse penis. This is, we discover, a framing device–to be matched by a scene late in the film where he sprays his father with elephant semen, straight from the source.
>Green plays Gord Brody, a 28-year-old who lives at home with his father, who despises him, and his mother, who wrings her hands a lot. He lives in a basement room still stocked with his high school stuff, draws cartoons and dreams of becoming an animator. Gord would exhaust a psychiatrist’s list of diagnoses. He is unsocialized, hostile, manic and apparently retarded. Retarded? How else to explain a sequence in which a Hollywood animator tells him to “get inside his animals,” and he skins a stag and prances around dressed in the coat, covered with blood? His romantic interest is Betty, who is disabled and dreams of rocket-powered wheelchairs and oral sex. A different kind of sexual behavior enters the life of his brother Freddy, who gets the movie named after him just because, I suppose, Tom Green thought the title was funny. His character also thinks it is funny to falsely accuse his father of molesting Freddy.

I have a very bad prejudice against them but I take your word, they're just dumb and hacky, their hit TV series are just re-tellings of bizarre real life events for people not curious enough to search for the real stuff
Yes Herzog is going Venice afaik, new Coen or James Gray?
Media outlets are saying it's an arthouse heavy Cannes, but you know what kind of """arthouse"""

i don't see anything "arthouse" it's like one-third generic french melodramas
Venice has been arse lately but if they snatch both Herzog and Serra that's their best picks in years, and who knows what else

>going to france
Taking on water, sailing a restless sea
From a memory, a fantasy
The wind carries into white water
Far from the islands
Don't you know you're...
Never going to get to France
Mary, Queen of Chance, will they find you?
Never going to get to France
Could a new romance ever bind you?

Soderbergh's John Lennon AI doc gets a special screening lmao at cans
>Steven Soderbergh AI documentary because he uses artificial intelligence to create surreal images that match the musicians’ philosophical moments. He explains that ninety percent of the visuals are archival stills. The remaining ten minutes consist of AI‑generated dream‑like scenes that appear when the subjects speak about abstract ideas.
