I didnt hate it. I played through it because it got all those perfect scores and wanted to see for myself. The story is really kinda meh and not very interesting. The music is ok but I guess a bit hipster. Im 42 and didnt listen to this shit back then. The visuals/art were fine. I'd give it a 5/10 as a total package. Not sure who its for. I already didnt trust critics but this is kind of insulting. If it got 9s, there wouldn't be this much discussion.

And this thing is old as fuck at this point. Hell, if you want some more contemporary Western movie games just look at all the death than can happen in the Dark Pictures games, or your ability to shift the story while laughing your ass off at a David Cage game.
I don't get the outrage either. It's just a moviegame. The only point I'll concede it's good and worth making that haters of this game have made was "but when teenagers date teenagers in Persona it's problematic" That is true. In Persona you don't even get intimate scenes, the characters hug and it fades to black. It gets called out as pedophilic content because the player is not a teenager himself, so that should apply here too. It did make the anti-japan bias in the industry extremely clear. But the game itself is not at fault for this. I think both should be considered normal, instead of neither.
