The inevitable shelter of the retard: Personal insults.
Let me put it in words you might understand: Spamming personal greetings at every minor acquaintance you know in map chat is like taking a phone call on speakerphone on a train, or during a flight, or at a bus stop.
Snort less glue, dipshit.

Personal insults as a cherry on top of slam dunking a refutation up your gaping asshole are not the same as your ENTIRE reply being a personal insult.
Let me again explain it to you like the handicapped child that you are:
If you remove the personal insult from my reply, my main point still stands.
If you remove the personal insult from your reply, there is no reply.
Was that easy enough for you to understand, fuckwit? I refuted you and THEN accurately described you as a retard. In your reply, your ENTIRE reply was a personal insult.
>Yeah damn shame you dont have the tools necessary to mute them irl. UNLIKE THE GAME.
Again: Muting people in an MMO is actively making your own game shittier by reducing the population you can connect with.
They should just not be retarded. It's better for everyone if that one retard just stops using map chat as his group chat.
Look at it this way, subhuman shitstain: If we do things MY way, only the single idiot has to change his behavior. If we do things YOUR way, THOUSANDS OF FUCKING PEOPLE have to block the idiot and all of the little morons that reply to him. Constantly. Forever.
One-time fix for ONE person VS Frequent fix everyone has to do for weeks, months, or years on end.
It's like there being a big bonfire in the middle of town and you can either put out the bonfire lighting peoples houses on fire or you can tell the entire neighborhood to constantly put out their own fires when embers ignite their homes.
>>
Am I understanding correctly that the LAST bauble in World 1 Zone 3 is up on a ledge you can only reach by using the bounce from the last checkpoint, so if you miss the bounce you're fucked out of getting all of the baubles until you restart the entire run?

Do dig spot baubles count for the "collect all bauble" achievements? I thought it was just all the loose baubles and every chest. Or do dig spot chests count and it's the free baubles you dig up that don't count?

Dig spots do not count for that achieve. You can check if you got all the baubles by talking to Betty Bauble at the end of the level. Preferably, do those achieves on weenie hut jr mode.
>>
>>
>>565656283
She's telling me I still don't have them all, but I've covered every room like 10 times each, visited every secret room, hit every dig spot but that final one up on the cliff, etc.
I found one blue bauble I missed in the chamber with the leaf platforms that fall, up beneath one of the first leaves you step on. I've ran all the way back to the start checking for more and haven't found any.
I did the mini jumping puzzle inside the tree trunk behind the alligator, too.
It sucks they added an achievement for this but no way of knowing even which segment you're missing baubles in, or how many baubles you're missing.

Just found it. It was the the single bauble on top of the first horizontal log within view of the start of the zone. I jumped up and got the stuff on the platform next to it but somehow missed the bauble that was 10 feet away from me.
The NPC at the end is telling me I got them all. So now I'm finally done with this hellscape. Unless I decide to go for some tribulation mode stuff before the event ends.
>>565657756
Yeah, I grabbed every chest other than apparently the last one in King Toad's chamber that you can only grab by bouncing when you grab the checkpoint. I grabbed every other chest, visited every hidden room, etc.

Protip: the easiest way to avoid the Hieu faggots is to arrive to a meta on time. They usually start gathering 20 minutes before a meta starts to ensure that their little clique of weirdos can all meet up, so as long as you avoid showing up too early you'll most likely be okay.

I spoke too soon. I'm missing the Hot, hot hot! shop for World 1 and that requires getting to the last segment on tribulation mode.
I'm now getting raped by these stupid rocks because they emit an AoE through the air that catches you and ragdolls you even if you're 10 feet away. You're just not allowed to take even a single step near one you. If you have to jump near them you have to jump immediately upon landing or else there's a 0% chance of getting out of their radius in time, and even if you do jump immediately on landing, there's a high chance you're still fucked.
Playing even one single Tribulation map was a mistake because this wants me to take every dime I've ever spent on this game back and spend it on anti-ArenaNet political lobbying.

typically the ones that congregate on a meta map and sit around and "map chat it up" while unsuspecting everyone else does the meta for them, and then they rush in for rewards time. i experienced this in auric basin twice, and that second time i just hopped maps so they can hugbox. even if it means i end up in a fail meta map, so be it. they're also the same 50 squad that sit around with their thumbs up their asses at amnoon waypoint while 4 or 5 unlucky people that are collecting casino tokens may have no idea they're just slaving away for 50 lazy cunts just to have a crack at the piñata ez loot chance at the confetti infusion. i was one time one of those 5 unlucky players who was slaving away collecting coins so i could have a shot at the infusion. turned out i didn't get shit for a reward, but i did it for free for 50 lazy sacks of shit.

Yeah, forget this.
Tribulation mode is so ass that everyone involved should probably just find a new industry to work in. No achievement other than the dedicated tribulation mode achievements should ever force you to go play tribulation mode. 99.999% of the population don't have the severe mental illness necessary to bang their heads against a wall 50 times just to clear one level.

ANet are making a whole new MMO from scratch right and still have enough resources for a full GW2 team to put out mini expansions yearly. Literally the most development-ntensive part of a live service game's lifespan and they still produce content for their old game.
There is zero reason to believe GW2 would be abandoned once GW3 cones out, when they've already proven to both the players and upper management that they're capable of developing two big games in parallel.
GW2 expansions will continue to release. They haven't announced the next one yet because they want to reveal it at the same time GW3 is announced, to immediately reassure the inevitable panicking GW2 players. And it probably includes some cross-game tie-in features like the HoM too, I imagine.

I don't think that they will intentionally abandon it. I'm afraid they won't be able to keep up reasonable update quality or rates for all 3 games. Or that new project won't be sufficient to at least recoup the budget and will take out the company completely. MMO devs often walk on thin ice.

I don't get how Guardian is considered the favourite child. Only firebrand is truly a consistently great spec, everything else is pretty mid. And even firebrand has some of the shittiest boon aoe coverage of any class.
Necro is their favourite noob friendly child (alongside mechanist), and mesmer is the real favourite child that can do everything and has all the utility anyone could ever want while doing crazy dps.

The biggest reason was because it never seemed to get nerfed, only buffed, while the classes around it were constantly fluctuating. I think this all culminated in pvp chudbender, at which point ANET finally started nerfing guardian, so at present it's a bit of an outdated statement.

You get 2 Bauble Bubbles for every stage you complete per day, so you can spend 30-40 minutes doing a quick jaunt through them and come away with 14-16 each day.
If you're really into it you can do Tribulation Mode which I think is another 4 per day, but doing Normal Mode is enough to get most of the stuff you would want.
>>

>>565696978
>>565697057
You can make a few bricks just so you have them, but after you have a stockpile I'd just throw extra stacks away.
When you have expansions you can get gobblers that can eat up 800 or so a day, and there's an NPC in the SotO town area that can consume up to 2100 a week, and that all converts it to mostly a bit of gold and some green UnIDs. But if you don't have them then it's not a big deal and you can just toss your extra.

ArenaNet doesn't have anything to do with the card game. That's some unnamed internal NCSoft studio. They've been far enough in development on GW3 (or whatever they name it, I'm not convinced it'll be a numbered title) to be actively hiring staff for it since 2022.

The Eagle Shortcut is fucking me up because is it like the worm, where you HAVE to take the shortcut to get all the baubles, but doing so skips a bunch of baubles so you have to clear the level then backtrack to the start to take the shortcut to get all the baubles in one run?

And I was using the choya race to reset my progress so I could explore the map from the middle but apparently if you die during the race it just cuts it off and gives you no option to reset. So now I'm stuck at the end of the map with no way to backtrack and find the baubles I missed.

Yeah, I got to the very end and realized the tall posts holding the bell you ring at the end has a bauble on each post. You only get up there by taking the eagle. So there's some point where you turn around and backtrack all the way to the eagle and take it.
I didn't know what that point was, so I thought I'd be clever and backtrack to the choya race start and use that to push as far forward as possible then teleport back to the middle of the map. Except when I died on the trampoline posts in the middle of the void it just ended the race and dropped me at my last checkpoint, which was apparently too far along to backtrack from, so I was fucked and had to finish the map and start over.

>>
>>
>>565727563
Read the rest of the reply you inbred moron.
The core complaint is some achievements are 90% normal mode achievements and then force you to do one part of it in tribulation mode.
Doing that one single part in tribulation mode takes longer and more lives than doing the other 9 parts.
That's retarded and whoever did that should be fired.
>>
>>565727654
I'm looking at some guides and noticing the same thing. A lot of them say you can only do the all-baubles achievement in baby mode because of the backtracking requirements.
Which bugs the hell out of me because it'd be trivial to just make the maps backtrackable. There's no reason to fuck over anyone trying to do the achievements in normal mode.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>565729120
Have they added any baubles in the past 10 years? Because I just used their video guide, counted every bauble, backtracked right before the end to take the eagle and got the last few baubles up on the posts, and that dumb bitch Betty is still saying I'm missing baubles.
The video is 10 years old so I don't know if it's missing anything new that got added.
I don't understand the brain damage necessary to design content like this.
There's no way they don't see a sharp drop in players during SAB because people try this garbage and then get fed up with the rest of the game.
Nothing has made me want to quit GW2 like re-running this stupid map over and over looking for the final 1 or 2 baubles I'm missing.
>>
>>
>>
File: gw165.png (1.6 MB)
And this is what fucked me this time.
This final drop right here doesn't have a cloud going back up even in baby mode. So I'm stuck here and can't go back and check for anything I missed.
This level is such shit, too. The stupid assassins that spam attacks and evade. The stupid fish. Having to re-climb the same pagodas and trees 3+ times each because they all have you climb up then jump down to some secret, then you have to climb again to get the next one. Everything about this is just bad. There's not one redeeming aspect to any of it.

Doing it daily is... holy shit. Doing it 16 - 20 times to get all the king toad and storm wizard skins for... 2 kaiser weapons. the extent to how grindy it is with how little variety in the gameplay is crazy. and the super adventure loot bags have lika 10% drop for weapons. the glitch chests have like a 7% drop rate.
>>
>>
>>565736672
I only wanted a few skins. But by the time I had them I was 80-90% of the way to the big achievements like Honors in Applied Jumping and figured I might as well go the rest of the way.
Except, in typical ArenaNet fashion, the last 80-90% takes twice as long as the rest of the achievements because they threw in a bunch of mindless, bug-brained grinding to artificially stretch the content out.
Every time they fuck us over like that, all I can think about is how much easier it would've been for them to just make a straightforward gaming experience where you tackle well-defined challenges and get decent rewards at a decent pace instead of grinding for days on end or spending hours tediously combing the map with a fine-toothed comb to find every last little thing they hid.
It took more effort for them to deliver this half-assed bullshit than it would've taken to just make a generic theme park festival where you spend an hour or two a day doing something fun.
>>565737459
I forced myself to do the exploration modes when it dropped. Then I started doing normal modes a few days because I calculated that it would only take me ~5 days to get everything I wanted from the event. I added 2 buffer days in case I was wrong and it's a good thing that I did because, unsurprisingly, world 2 is a huge grind for the bauble achievements.
>>
>>565736454
The shortcut path to that area has two clouds you can dodge-jump to to get past the untriggered checkpoint. As long as you didn't trigger the second checkpoint in the portal platforms you can return to the second to last half of w2z2.

Stupid ass achievement.
Now all I've got left is to 100% the secrets and baubles in W2Z3, and find Moto's Finger, which I hope is a secret in W2Z3.
I also somehow skipped the tote bag. Went from 500 bauble storage to 1000, so I hope buying the 750 bauble bag won't cap me at 750 baubles.

It's mostly a problem if you want to do them on Tribulation mode, to be fair. I think they're fine on normal if you take the shortest route. 2-1 doesn't feel that much longer than 1-3 if you book it, 2-2 is short if you use the eagle, 2-3 the same if you skip from the sliding blocks up to the yeti.
IMO it just makes it into a thing where you do W2 Tribulation either once in a lifetime for the achievements, or once a year, or whatever, and you only do W1 Tribulation as a repeatable thing. Not ideal, but not that bad either.
>>
>>565768425
Yeah they're all fast if you use the skips that were added after the initial release (besides the eagle). 2-1 has a whole extra rapids section you had to do and every rapids section was 10x harder than they are now. The first time you did 2-2 you had to get through the gong room which was such absolute bullshit that they let you skip it even in trib mode now. 2-3 you couldn't just skip up to the yeti you had to do all of it. There were also fewer checkpoints in the initial release so you could lose a ton of progress on each death and falling into pits took a whole life instead of just some hp.
>>
>>
>>565740431
Mayne, the last time I did quickplay I got Kaening and all these poopstains kept stacking up when that explosion circle appeared. So they kept blowing themselves up and by the end of it the boss had 10% hp and only 2 of us were alive, took a long time to finally bring that chink down but at least I didn't had to worry about some idiot stacking up on top of me and killing us both.
>>
>>
>>565774014
I'm getting this a lot with older content. I look up videos on how to do something and they're all 7-12 years old. I even almost caught myself telling someone HoT's great for newbies because I had forgotten how shit it is before you have any masteries and huge chunks of every map are just off-limits until you do some grinding.
I was thinking of HoT purely as the jungle camp event chains and meta events and easy hero points but then remembered how frustrating it is to not know where anything is, not be able to make sense of the maps, not have masteries or mounts to make navigation easier or even possible in the first place, etc.
I did SAB for the first time this year and the difference between zero upgrades and full upgrades alone is huge. Do people remember how nightmarish those bears are without bombs or the bow to 2-shot them? Or how hard it is to fight the chain-swinging assassins without a whip to stun them first?

If they call it GW3, their established fanbase will freak out that they're being replaced and abandon the franchise out of rage.
If they don't call it GW3, everyone will think it's some throwaway spinoff side title and it'll fail to attract any new audience.

The Gods saw how much trouble their gift of magic caused humanity and decided to take a back seat role going forward. In GW1 their avatars can be spoken to at shrines, take offerings in exchange for boons, give quests, and let you into their realms for the keks. They are very present, even if not physically. It's just in GW2 where they're gone or, at best, an idiotic cartoon villain.

god I hate the future. I played MMOs back in the 2000s and GMs genuinely doing silly things, helping out after a bug and being a part of the community added SO much to the game. It made them feel like benevolent cool stewards of the digital world. Now every single digital game has eliminated those positions for cost savings and we will never have that level of attention and care.
Enshittification comes for everything. Things will only get worse. Everything was better yesterday and will get worse tommorow...

Guild Wars 3 happens on a different realm visited by the human gods. Turns out the fuckers are dragging human servants from world to world just for funsies and everywhere they go, humans settle in and become an invasive species. The only thing GW3 will have in common with GW1 or GW2 will be the gods. The plot twist will be that the storyline takes place before GW2 but you don't realize it until two expansions in when Balthazar shows up and you have to fight him.

Orrians were sorta like Persians, and definitely lighter than Krytans.

Kryta feels mostly Southeast Asian, what with the rice paddies and houses on stilts etc, there's a bit of mediterranean influence in some names and architecture but the people themselves are far darker-skinned than mediterraneans and certainly dress and adorn themselves nothing like them.
As for the Orrians, GW2 really emphasized the Arabic influence. And Persians aren't "white european" either.

If it was important they would have figured out how to make SotO an "of" instead of "of the". If they didn't want to consciously break the pattern they would have called it Wilds of Janthir instead of Janthir Wilds.
It's a pattern without meaning, and they clearly don't want to be constrained by it.

I remember ESO used to, but I guess they abandoned it upon realizing how retarded it was, right around the time ANET picked up the practice.
The worst part is that they're clearly working on it up until that update is released. We're basically paying for early access, $30 expansions that have all been fucking terrible as of late. It's fucking retarded and part of me wants ANET to sink because of it.

Everything is such a grind and it might be refreshing to go, "I'm sick of super serious bullshit from the main story zones. I want to go run around in low-poly world."

Neurodevelopmental disorder.
The part of my brain that filters and processes emotions to return the brain to a neutral state is underdeveloped, so strong negative emotions don't fade or dissipate unless I explicitly process/vent them. If I didn't share them, I'd go into a multi-day spiral and end up even worse.
The automatic emotional processing most people do doesn't happen for me, so I have to manually do it with other parts of the brain. Which is why I analyze the things that frustrate me. Because my deficits in emotional processing are balanced out by a commensurate overdevelopment in parts of the brain associated with reasoning and critical thought.

Yea, its very easy to tag up and lead too. Just throw your tag and start leading the zerg around. Once you have enough people the event progresses fairly quickly just through sheer numbers. Make sure to list it in group finder so you slurp up people who actually want to do it. I've successfully fully completed the map as commander with basically no map knowledge 3 times now. Ig I actually know how to do it now because I've done it.
You can also watch some QRD videos on youtube before you com it.

The thing is half baked and clunky even though saving looks as text strings is more powerful yeah
They completely fucked up the UX flow, gliders and mounts are in a separate part of the UI to dying gliders and mounts which is in a separate part of the UI to dying armour, which now requires more clicks to change individual pieces, and hiding pieces with the tick box now lives in two places that overlap with each other, the wardrobe tick boxes don't apply unless you untick and apply the entire wardrobe change, or you again go to a whole separate part of the UI and do it from the equipment screen
The shit was NOT ready for release, and the entire idea of abstracting it into a new UX was retarded, all they needed to do was keep the old system and add a new tab for fashion storage akin to build storage, with the save to text feature baked in, but oh they couldn't mega Jew us with extortionate fashion tab costs that way
>>
>>566017196
>the tick box now lives in two places that overlap with each other,
Ive spent plenty of time fiddling around with the system and youre overcomplicating it.
Basically the wardrobe tab is a blanket application of all the skins and dyes, but going into the equipment tab to hide/show armor pieces works independently from it and gives you the same system of hiding/unhiding equipment that people were used to up until the changes.
Is it a bit more complicated? Sure, but thats only a problem for lower iq individuals that struggle with change. People said the same thing about the combined portal scrolls scroll/megagobbler. Sure it takes a couple extra clicks but you adapt, and it saves you a bunch of item slots in the end. Overall its an improvement, people just piss and moan because they have to change what they're used to from the past 13+ years.

Now that it's had time to cool down, I don't think the fashion template thing was too bad, I say this only because it's added utility for me recently. At first, it was kind of shit because the Get equipped fashion button wasn't there and you had to right click the tab, and people, like me, lost their character's looks. That hot swap feature was also pretty bad. Now that I'm used to it, I think it's a lot faster/easier to fashion because you can quick save fashions you're working on if a meta started or something and the dye is right next to it so you don't have to do any more clicks to get to the dye channels.
I just want them to fit all the functionality inside of the fashion tab already so that when you click the equipment tab, it only brings up equipment.

I'm going to actually take the bait and give you an honest response:
GW2 isn't designed to be an infinite live service treadmill. Instead, becomes of it's horizontal design, all content from 1.0 to now is relevant. GW2 as a game basically becomes a pilgrimage of achieving all the little corners of gameplay that have accumulated over the years, heading towards the autistic and insane goal of 60,000 achievement points. There is simply always something to do, something to try. Just playing through the story alone is dozens to hundreds of hours of content. And at the very top end, the Legendary armor chase creates a gigantic gold sink that drives the economy. 2 new zones being added isn't just 5 hours of content, it's about expanding the ecosystem for the entire game. You can get just as much value out of Starlit Weald as you can Janthir Syntri or Draconis Mons.
This gives GW2 an unprecedented amount of player freedom and choice. If you want to become a Path of Fire only player, you can. You can spend hundreds of hours just doing Path of Fire content, leading PoF group content and doing it's hardest achievements. Unlike, say, wow or final fantasy where previouis expansions are basically legacy broken content made to be 1 shot on the way to the front of the treadmill.
>>
>>566024490
I just have the legendary I'm chasing as a quick link on GW2 efficiency. So I can see the cost going down as I get all the stuff over time.
I've never made a legendary before but I'm going for the Legendary Relic, Rune and Sigil because I find the system more annoying than hunting ascendent gear which is kind of fun desu.

Are we deader than ever or something
I feel like I see these charr goobers, optmus prime and megatron all the time now. I figured these must be 50 Teq instances at reset that I would rarely run into these guys but nope, like every other day i bump into at least one group.
>>
>>
>>
>>566084534
I think it's just that that guy only recently decided that instead of quietly leeching on an army of bots that most people won't notice, he's going to loudly leech on the most visually obnoxious army of bots that he can make.
The game is a bit more dead than it's been since VoE launched, but not worse than it's been for the last 3-4 years. Which I guess is just what happens when you launch an expansion that most people really like but then go six months without any content to kill your own momentum.
>>
>>
>>566084534
We're at the tail end of a long content draught, things will liven up again for the next VoE drop, then I dunno, it really does feel like we are at the penultimate DLC before GW1 goes the way of GW2
My main worry is that GW3 will be utter dogshit, take the company down and GW1 and GW2 with it
>>
>>566094708
We just don't know with GW3. GW2 was an experiment inside and out. Maybe they'll stick to a normal design, maybe it'll be GW2:Reborn and a new coat of paint. They could also just keep the working design philosophies of GW2 and build the rest from scratch, hopefully easier to work with.
>>
>>566096775
If GW3 has any of the same creative directors or writers I'm never touching it, I just can't stomach another poisoned game like that, not from muh beloved guild wars world
Why doesn't GW1 or 2 have any private servers, by god imagine a custom GW2 client without any of the garbage story content, retconning all of the salad and rat Mary sue bullshit, no waypoints, turning all of the boundary invisible walls into zone portals (flying, sailing etc into connected zones), and finally putting the charr and humans to war again, turn some border zones into PvP enabled zones like the entire stretch of the shiverpeaks, lions arch a neutrality enforced zone, salads rats and norns can be mercenary races and join either side, pack orr full of gold and loot and make it a treasure hunt with PvP to compete for the loot. Ebonhawk citadel can be it's own siege mini game where humans and charr fight for control of it. Just delete cantha it's too gay, Amnoon oasis is another neutral enforced city and everything past the gates turns into a Joko's undead zombie survival game with little survivor strongholds dotted around the maps.

The problem lies with all mounts, using movement skills in core was peak fun
>>

I wouldn't even started playing, if not for the mounts. Game was just another failed wow clone in my mind at that time. I remember seeing Gliders advertised as the main cool feature in HoT and thinking it's the most retarded, lame ass thing possible to add to the game. Raptor and griffin made me hype to try it.

>>
>muh no mount autism
Fuck off, I prepurchased this game and still maintain that the mounts are one of the best updates this game has ever got, and they are the best mounts in any game I've ever played.
They just went too fucking far with the sky scale, they gave into the "I'm fucking retarded and gryphon is too hard to get and use let me just press button to skip everything" and then doubled down by forcing people to use it by designing content around it.
Gryphon was the perfect take on mmo flying, why they decided to just trash it by ripping off the very thing that killed the wow open world ill never understand
>>
>>566105771
But I did stay for the mounts. The gameplay was always ok. Good by MMO standards sure, but just ok if you play any other games besides MMOs. Same with GW1, it has nice RPG elements for an MMO, but it's very mid as a CRPG, nothing that special.
I guess seeing 50+ people beating a thing on a map together sub 10fps is entertaining also. Might as well play EVE at this point tho.
>>
File: fox-grapes.jpg (79.3 KB)
Skyscales are basic bitch mounts though. Warclaws and Skimmers are the new OP mounts. Warclaw is better in every way as an engagement mount and Skimmer is a direct upgrade to Skyscale in mobility. The people crying about Skycales often don't have one while ignoring the options they do have.
>>
GW2 mounts are really fun
Core Tyria without mounts is fucking dreadful
But HoT without mounts is the peak of the game
The game would probably be better without the Skyscale and with less vertical lift on the VoE Skimmer, but it's not that big of a deal
>>
>>
>>566103782
I didnt play at launch, but my completely unpolluted opinion having just played through it all this year is everything to do with the Wizard's Court sucked and everything to do with the Nayos demons revolution was very cool. So that's kind of the opposite for me.
On the Janthir Wilds side, Bava Nisos is cool conceptually but just kind of barren content wise. It has a very small amount of events, a pretty boring meta but getting to revisit the forge of souls from GW1 was a really cool nostalgia moment. Stoic Alders family drama is surprisingly engaging for 'GW2 characters talking at me' slop.
I think if people praised Sotos writing at launch those people might be the most drooling fucking imbeciles of all time, as the Wizards Court is filled with the most insufferable mary sue characters and the "Wayfinder" shit is incredibly annoying. I genuinely was waiting for "the wizards court is actually evil" plotline to drop all the way up until the final discussion with Isgarren and I realized all the red flags from the characters in the story were just bad writing and not actually building up to something. And the vast majority of that comes from the first act.
>>
>>566107086
skyscales are the best mount for total mobilty. Skimmer being better than skyscale was true for about 1 week post launch when you could reach the skybox on any map and just stay up there. Then they nerfed it into the fucking ground. Now what I use it for is you pop the skimmers 2, pop bond of vigor, hover as high as you can get then hop off and mount your skyscale who will have a full flight bar and you can get a bit more height. This lets me skip MOST difficult height related traversal.
The true OP movement comes from combining ALL the mounts and glider together. I even hop on my griffon sometimes if I have a space with enough elevation I can get a down boost from.
>>
>>
>>566111231
Ive been saying this a lot lately. I would love if the the final patch of this xpac or the next xpac has a mastery line to make the Jackal relevant again. Of all the mounts its the most useless. It IS speedy, at least, and it has a cool mount attack. But you could easily make a new version of them in other elemental subtypes
>>
>>
>>566113417
Yea... true. In general, I like the concept of new mastery tracks for old abilities instead of just hyper bloating the game with new things. Skiffs still feels like such a useless addition, they could have just allowed you to fish from the back of a skimmer.
>>
>>
>>566113101
>>566113513
PoF itself added bloat, the dog is a raptor that goes trough portals, the skimmer is a raptor that goes in water, the springer is complete ass to use and destroys the verticality of maps like the skyscale
Only raptor, griffon and maybe the beetle should have been added, the rest is filler or detrimental like the skyscale

is there a reason besides birthday gifts to keep characters that are 13 yrs old that i have no interest in playing due to prof/race combo? i'm basically new since i never got past lv40 a few months after the game came out but i filled my char slots with alts. i'm keeping 1 just in case they add new one-time rewards but from what i understand they probably won't

Orr used to have necromancer cavalry, so they existed in civilized lands around 300 years before current GW2 time. There may still be more in wild lands elsewhere, possibly.
The only currently existing "horse" is Mad King Thorn's pony, Gumdrops (he's invisible).
>>
>>566138046
Anon said they never got past level 40. I was thinking he could at least use some of them to finish out gifts of exploration, but if they’re just 40, it’s a lot less of a hassle to just remake them if you don’t like how they look now

The game's writing has always been varying degrees of terrible.
>>
>>566142424
Janthir started off painful but actually started to feel like it was starting to really get good and then they suddenly closed the book on you with a final boss that left me confused because I thought it was a mid-story miniboss but no, they just clearly ran out of dev time and instead of stretching the story out into the next xpac they just move onto something entirely different like they are banking on the boomer playerbase to all have Alzheimer's by now
>>

GRIFFON UPGRADE!!!!!
>>566136594
Canonically there are no horses in Tyria. Not one. They simply don't exist.
>>
>>566142668
Yea, I feel like Bava Nisos was kind of meant to be an actual character we talked to in some way. It was the one that lulled the white mantle to the city and turned them into titans. And it was kind of being built up to be somewhat sympathetic (a titan that didn't want to fight anymore, and that Mabon extended friendship towards). But nope. We just beat up on it's heart then move close the portal and call it a day.
At least Janthir got a proper post expansion wrap up where all the characters got to tell you their final character development instead of just being never seen again like a lot of GW2 characters.
>>
>>566104781
then do it on foot? lol? the discussion around map completion is almost unanimously about how it takes too long or is too much of a pain in the ass, so yeah. you niggers always cry that it is too hard to do with skyscales and griffons and rollerbeetles.
if you are one of the few? cool. i did it on foot, and it was pretty chill but if you're going to be willfully ignorant to what the vast majority of players think about a given piece of content you're just as retarded as the snowtroons that think the game is all about benching golems.
the closest comparison to this i can think of is summoning stones in world of warcraft. people will rail against them and talk about how they ruin the game. and then they'll complain when pablo takes two hours to walk to the dungeon.

whatever you call it, its rather unwieldly and is best used for either blasting in a straight line before switching to something else while your 2 is on CD or just hovering directly up before airswapping to your skyscale or griffon.

Get some exotic gear if you don't have it already.
Then pick content you like and work on it. 100% map completion in Core Tyria is a common goal for fresh 80s.
Or continue your personal story. Once you've fought Zhaitan, you need expansions and Living World packs to continue the main storyline.
You can get into PvP, particularly WvW, but you probably want to look for a WvW guild that helps train up newer players.
Always pay attention to what your build is lacking and think about how you can fine tune it.
You might find you prefer to play with more stun breaks or condi cleanses, or maybe you're more comfortable with a few vitality/toughness pieces of equipment so you don't die super fast, etc.
Or maybe you prefer high-mobility so you don't get hit or take conditions in the first place.
Or maybe you like playing with all Power/Vitality/Toughness gear so you don't have to use defensive utilities and can focus on just offensive abilities, etc.
Or maybe you like some concentration/healing power and like to support people instead of doing maximum damage.
You'll figure it out in time.

>have full legendary rings and trinkets
>turn them all off
>work my ass off to get certain infusions
>never equip them
There is always a brief period where I equip them when I first unlock them, but they're so jarring I usually turn them off a few days later.I only turn them all on when I'm carrying noobs with less than 2k AP through a dungeon or fractal, to make them think I'm a pro player.

Seeing people with infusion sets never made me think they were a pro or veteran of whatever, it's the opposite, my instant association is "oh this person's a little retarded I'm going to have to carry them"
There isn't a single infusion, including the wvw or pvp ones that you can't 50IQ brute force or even afk to get
