Died in exactly one of those flats earlier. Some of the dudes that spawn inside don't move and won't make any noise at all.
Even with the best armor you can buy at sec 4, you'll die in one spraydown. Infuriating really.
I can handle 4 army dudes spawning in the open and supressing me but in those apartments that are enormous it's absolute cancer.
Had the same issue with the recreation center in the 2nd map.

there are a few types of mimics; there's ambushers and there's pushers and there's also snipers. The ones in the house will be ambushers, they will sit there absolutely silent until you wander into them where they will split second fill you full of bullets before you can even draw. You have to clear every single room like it's fucking stalingrad. The good news is if you are clearing, they don't move so you can peek them, then cheese them by shooting them in the arm or something in complete safety.

I had the bug again where I had two of them spawn at the exact same spot. Almost got instakilled when climbing up the stairs.
The sniper dudes are ridiculously tanky as well it's nuts. I managed to do the mission to open the portal in the park but honeslty I just went at night and abused NVG. Feels like that's how pechorsk is balanced compared to the cooperative.

Thing is if you don't clear the flats during the day you'll get potshot'd from the fags hanging on the balconies when trying to cross the town. As for me I wasted about 200 bullets of 9mm for the mp9 and around 80 of the sks to finish the portal mission and I don't think I even cleared a third of the area.
I find it whack this is the spawn density, dmg and overall balance for normal difficulty. It's getting tedious desu.

Flak jacket is far more versatile. Helps protect you against counter fire from helis, ground vehicles and all the regular explosive spam from infantry. You can swap to Saboteur if the situation really calls for it.

VRChat, it was daunting at first but honestly it's been a blast shooting the shit with anons as cute anime girls once I got used to it.
Bonelab, having proper collisions in VR is weird at first but you get used to it and end up wanting it in anything, bonus points if you play with friends/thread.
Superhot VR, this was how I was introduced to VR and what convinced me to eventually get a headset, the game translates into VR so insanely well, thank you internet cafe for having a headset I could try years ago
Project Wingman VR, fighter pilot game with kino story and doesn't require you to learn a billion controls, it's simply just a good game.
Pavlov, shooting people is fun, shooting children is even more fun.

Alyx is a very smooth implementation of VR physics/controls, and it pushes graphics to the limit while still being playable.
As an actual game it's fairly barebones and meant to be more of a Half-Life-lite than anything else.

The difference is going to be negligible if you're using one of the low latency codecs in VD, the bigger source of latency will be your network setup if you don't have a dedicated router and it gets choked sometimes with other people in the house and you using it for internet

most of the wifi streaming solutions are basically all the same
steam vrlink will auto bitrate adjust and cap so you don't get too laggy, but it may not be a fully clear image if it caps it too low

6ghz just means you're likely to avoid interference from neighbors
I personally find Steam VRLink without dynamic foveation to not push a high enough bitrate for a clear image, but 200Mbps AV1 tends to be alright for a noisy scene while being about 15ms or so behind wired HMDs at 90hz
HEVC creeps up latency faster so H264 is a better fallback if you don't have access to AV1

Alyx doesn't rate in my top 5 though it probably should. It's designed to be baby's first vr game because it came free with the index. Boneworks was a better halflife than alyx. Bonelab is crazy good but only if you play with fusion otherwise it's trash. Skydance behemoth was really cool. Definitely enjoyed. Forefront and pavlov are probably the better multiplayer pvp vr shooters right now. I'm the world's biggest shill for ITR so go play that. 1 and 2 are both great. If you're a questlet asgard's wrath is good too.
Honourable mention for bootstrap island, contractors showdown, walkabout minigolf, rumble (rip), i expect you to die, zero caliber, and vertigo.

It's anomaly. It's janky, my first two operations in game were getting my hand stuck in an object to the point where I had to restart the game because not even save reload would help. Not sure what that was about, it stopped happening after a while. Guns get no double hand hold, it's a pretty basic VR implementation overall. Not quite where I want it to be to have fun, but credit where it's due, it's more or less playable and performance is very good. Really hope to see it get better.

Like anon said it's DCS lite where you don't need ANY HOTAS (and the virtual cockpit works great) plus all the effort learning systems that DCS demands. It's already hard to find that sort of thing in flat, Nuclear Option exists now but didn't at the time, and VTOL does it great and with MP has a ton of things you can do to keep missions fresh.

i think my quest 2 is on the verge of death
this thing is so broken and unusable, it reverts to stationary every time i take off my headset, i need to restart the entire headset to get it to connect with steam link, if I try to connect twice on the same headse "start up" it just says "Unknown Error connection with steamVR" 50% of the time i connect with steam link i cant access the overlay and thus can't calibrate my FBT
On top of that I still have random ass crashes in VRchat where hitting calibrate or loading peoples files randomly crashes me, no matter what my CPU, GPU and RAM load at the moment is
I can be in an instance with 50+ people and everything is fine, working mirrors, taking pictures, the whole shebang and then I am alone in my home world which is like 3mb big and just a cube and opening the VRchat menu crashes me and makes me reconnect to the server
Is it time to just get everything new? New PC? New headset? I don't want to live with this shit anymore.

This. The Steam Frame's specifications, as previewed to influencers, is about the resolution of the Meta Quest 3. About the same pixel display hz too.
While the Meta Quest 3's controllers are obviously fragile...don't thumb the grip trigger, and RMA the thumbstick drift every half a year.

it's basically a dedicated streaming HMD in all realistic proper usage scenarios
the standalone APK performance is also looking pretty meager even with dynamic foveated rendering so don't expect much from sideloaded APKs or running x86->ARM translation native on the HMD for anything VR related
honestly for simming I'm surprised you'd even be hyped about a wireless HMD when you could just get a wired HMD and sit in the rig without worrying about charging, batteries, connection quality, etc. on top of clarity concerns for fast moving scenes like with racing games especially

A belt tensioner is my next potential mod, but I'm not entirely sure I want one yet. My IRL car is destroying me too. I'm fixing the AC. I fixed the steering rack beforehand. I have to fix the control arm bushings and add wheel studs after. Then I need to do a bunch of interior work, and I need to fix my windscreen washer fluid lines and I need to get a better catch can set up. It's just so tedious. For haptics I just took an L on the goymagic set and I made custom brackets for my SR-P pedals and I'm just using them with simhub. Then I just have 5 BST-1 bass shakers with the Slip-Angle spring kit. Been thinking about getting a motion system though.

On the topic of Bigshit Begone, it's low FOV and overpriced for what it is, plus it needs base stations and controllers, which is an additional cost, because back in 2020 I bought the G2 instead of the Index. It didn't have eye tracking for the longest time either. By the time they released the 2e, the Frame was already known. all a USB adapter will do for you is remove the rather insignificant transport layer of the latency stack
encode/decode is the vast majority and will remain until we either somehow reach the capability to stream RAW to the HMD and it can somehow handle the throughput

Multiple people who have purchased a Beyond and left a review of it in the company's official discord have reported that their Beyond heats up to insanely dangerous levels to the point it will give you a burn if you touch it. I have even seen some pictures of the eye tracking cameras literally melted.
Recently in March, one person reported that their Beyond was literally giving them electrical shocks when they were wearing it.

Based! Remember to not let him get too close to anyone else. My favorite method is to scope out anyone else who seems to be talking to my target more frequently than they should. Then, I'll make sure that one night he's within earshot but like behind a wall or something so he thinks I don't know he can overhear me and talk to other people and say things like "I don't like what Y is doing to X. It's kind of fucked up how he acts nice but then says all that stuff about him in other instances.

Some missions allow you to change time of day and weather. In single player it's in the equipment selection area, in MP it's before you host.

I dunno why but for a month my 3-point ass has been bow-legged like this. This kind of stuff used to happen when I had trackers, but it makes no sense that it's happening to me on 3-point. It happens with other avatars I use as well.
Was there an update with IK that requires all avatars to update to fix it?

yeah. even with imposter it's not guranteed. I saw a screencap someone posted of a rave I attended and I was still a robot. Was disheartened when I saw it. It's just not worth the effort if you're the type of person people tend to ignore or want to interact with anyway
