Without a doubt, female characters with ML content deserve respect. Regardless of character writing, being able to enjoy the ML content to the fullest is enough.
Although Lahai Roi hasn't had any truly praiseworthy ML so far - Aemeath plays both sides, Luuk does female-oriented ML, Chisa has already become a "classmate" - the only decent ML characters are Sigrika and Dania (based purely on the text, she's probably the most ML character in Lahai Roi). And both of these have the issue of being tied to male characters... But I think the problem is that people hyped up "high-quality ML" too much, raising everyone's expectations. Once the filter shatters, no one can let it go.
Not every female character needs to have ML, but there must be female characters who do have ML. If there's ML content, just enjoy it. If you don't like certain story content, you can always skip it. Return to being a player, the most important thing in playing a game is to have fun.
P.S. Although Dania's first-half story was miserable, making it hard for everyone to trust Kuro, I'm willing to keep hoping.

First, to cover myself: I fully support every female character being an ML character. I don't want Wuwa to move toward a "general audience" direction.
Now, about the quality of Dania's ML. To sum it up: there's no setup before and no follow-up after, just a quick ML burst in the moment, then discarded. In fact, starting from Iuno, several characters with ML content (Iuno, Chisa, Mornye, Sigrika) all have this same problem. It's just that during the game's upward phase, people could tolerate it or use "headcanon brain" to fill in the missing setup and follow-up. What I find most unbearable is the abrupt increase in affection - you've only met them a few times, and suddenly their affection is maxed out. Unless they were brainwashed with some kind of memory-melting charm, I can't think of any other explanation. Chisa and Sigrika, who had slightly longer story involvement, felt a bit better in comparison.
As for the mentality of "as long as there's ML content, it's fine" - that means you're accepting all the other off-flavors in the character. It's essentially a compromise with "two-faced" writing. Dania's team-building is male-tied (to be objective: involves male characters), and the story seems to try to sell a yuri as well. If, just because of cheap, industrial, sugar-coated ML, the sales end up increasing rather than decreasing, guess what kind of character will become more common in the future? Every bit of money you spend on this quality of ML is supporting the very thing you don't want.
