I can't really explain it, but the Abbot has a really thick English accent in French. To a point he sounds like that guy from Life of Brian who doesn't says "roman" but "woman".

Because it picks the factions from Battle For Middle Earth 2, and makes them more better and more respectful of the universe.
Now Gondor's soldiers are considered high-tier, but they need to be led by Boromir to maximize their potential, and until they can be churned out, Gondor relies on their allies from the fiedroms. And also the Guards of the Fountain are no longer T1 spearmen but hero units that extremely difficult and costly to recruit but will murderfuck any cavalry, monster or hero units.
meanwhile rohan sucks because they have shit infantry and awful siege and their cavalry can be killed by a goblin with a long stick

I wish I could go back to when I played Stellaris and got into the late game for the first time, thinking I was on an easy victory track. I had no clue about what an end game crisis was. I was hit by the Convergence as a robot species, witnessing their immense power emerge. It took two centuries and most of the galaxy to die, but I just barely survived and won. One of my favorite gaming memories.

i had an issue where i couldnt destroy the unbidden and all they did was hang out in one system with 20 million fleet power ontop of a xenophobic AEs homeworld without bombing the planets or anything
the situation log says they have 10 anchors and a portal but they have no controlled system kek

I was just asking if there's something i missed, i know i have (to my liking) the best colony sims. Tbh the only "game" i am going to buy is all the DLCs of EUIV during summer sales, and that's it. So yeah, to answer your questions they are enough.

So you can use the pacifist shield colossus on habitats, it just looks weird and the habitat doesn't even get a shield around it afterwards but it does provide the society research

I think only microsoft had the right idea this decade with age of empire 4, others just copy worst parts without thinking why people played games in the first place

Not even worth a pirate as far as I'm concerned. It's pretty but that's about it. Something very silly about making your game all about ever more complex production chains with goods exclusive to different regions and then allowing the player, as core mechanics so not as some exploit or whatever, to completely ignore those regions or most if not all of the steps in those production chains. And don't get me started on NPC traders and how they have a couple of goods they'll pay bloated prices to buy making them literal infinite money printers.
I do like what they did with the propaganda and influence systems.

Refugees is finished
Honestly, it was pretty damn easy once I got that canning workshop boost. It's crazy, a fuckton of rations. They give you a ton of steam cores too, so you can get automatons manning mines and drills pretty quickly. And even if they didn't give it you'd still have hundreds of workers + food and coal outposts. The challenge was supposed to be the lords, I guess, but they're not even hard to deal with. You just keep discontent down with patrols/night masses and build a shit ton of homes.
So pretty good. Not deathless sadly because I wanted to see how the Order path was since I did Faith last time, and it caused some poet to kill himself. Oh well.
The last one is fall of winterhome...that's definitely gonna be a hard one.

Hmm, I really should try to play the game before this nomad update comes out and breaks literally everything
Any reccomendation of a modpack or just your own list? I haven't played in like 2 years.I can't use any mod that depends on dynamic HUD because my screen is too small.

It has some basic modding with the 1.0 launch, and the devs will be adding more capabilities in future updates.

Publisher hasn't dropped them yet so that's probably a good sign. On the flip side they're the oldest "in development" game the publisher has that remains unreleased, and the only other games they list as "upcoming" are literally less than a year old from when they were listed on steam. www.hoodedhorse.com/games
The guys behind Hooded Horse seem to generally be loathe to drop a game that they still see potential in, and there's no way anyone else would've been lenient on an indie game made by a no name dev. My bet is that it launches to midling success, with fans loving it but the premise being too niche for the general market to care.

Welp, I just fucked up big time.
This is Sintopia, and it's actually fucking closer to bloody Factorio because no matter how hard I try, I cannot make any money, there are too many souls for me to process, they walk and wait for too long, and because everything is so costly, I cannot afford to tear everything down and rebuild it.
So yeah, that's a restart, and next time have the highest torture infrastructures closest to Charon's bus stop.

First the Rise of the Witch King, then Age of the Ring, both added wizards, Age of the Ring with a very odd "not from the order of the Istari".
Is it possible for a human to become a wizard without being a maiar like Gandalf, Saruman, Radagast, or the two blue dudes?
>>
>>
>>567024174
the black numenoreans practiced sorcery, the witch-king was... a witch, and wizards are mentioned here and there.
it's important to mention here that LotR magic isn't the "shoot fireballs" kind of magic
>>
>>
>>567024909
>wizards are mentioned here and there
Gonna need a source on that. To be very explicit. Also I'm curious about the Witch-King, he became the Witch-King after becoming a Nâzgul, right? He wasn't one before?
In Age of the Ring, the Harad use some kind of soul sorcery with human sacrifices, and Rivendell can train druids.
>>567025006
So not all magic users are wizards?
>>
>>
>>
>>567025490
Yeah, there's plenty of magic floating around. Obvious stuff like magical creatures, but there's a lot of magical crafting done by elves and dwarves, as well as stuff like Galadriel's prophecies and the witch-king's blasting. Things are a little muddy because different groups consider different things magic, Galadriel even talks about it to one of the hobbits. For humans specifically, Numenoreans like anon said are the prime example, arguably Aragorn himself too.

Finally, China is mine.
Also this really reminded me why I ended up hating Civilization when I played hundreds of hours back in the days. I hate the cheating. I know China didn't have the money to buy units, and I doubt it magically produced all of this out of tin air at the same time.
>>
>>
>>567029194
Only one city state.
I guess technically the units at the back are damaged, so perhaps it just hid them until now, possibly escaped from a previous battles. Though also it does seem like it got 4 fully healed units.

>>567029074
How is Unciv these days? I'm still waiting for BNW to be implemented before giving it another go. Cheating AI sounds authentic, but I'm hopeful that someone will port the Vox Populi or other balance patch mods that tone down the cheating but also try to keep the AI challenging and not completely braindead.

truly it was kino compared to the abominations that came after and somehow the tiger from 2006 looks better than the one from almost 20 years later
same with stronghold crusader which is the best game they ever made and now keep remaking every couple of years because everything else is a flop
>>
>>567033669
>I'm still waiting for BNW to be implemented before giving it another go
I don't think it is ever getting implemented by the main devs. There is some mod that does it, but not fully yet. I remember reading it is very challenging implementing BNW features.
Honestly I am continuing a game from 1.5+ years ago. At the time I played it even without a BNW mod, so still am. And honestly, it is not like I remember the original Civ 5 well enough to compare.
BMW aside, it works. Works well on android too. Only wish it had some cloud integration so that you could synch saves between PC and android, though as long as you don't forget to export your latest save, it is not that hard.
If you want Civ on your phone, it is great. There are already many mods, including an "Alpha Frontier" that I might check out later. No Vox Populi, though there is LekMod, which is a popular rebalancing+ new stuff mod. Interesting the BNW mod is less popular than stuff like RekMOD, DeCiv or Alpha Forntier. Or simple has less stars on github (which is the ranking you can see in-game).

>>567037568
Yeah. In Age of the Ring, they're "Misty Mountain" so mostly unaffiliated goblin, orcs and trolls that aren't aligned with Mordor or Isengard.
They have snow trolls, who are terrifying biological ballistas, throwing spears at high range.
