It does but you need to a) inject them or b) link your save with the distribution ROMs and get them via Mystery Gift. If you just download the rom you won't see those, but I would be lying if I said you can't get them on an emulator (or on cart or an R4 for that matter).
Also, FRLG don't use the inner clock so repro carts are basically like the originals unlike RSE where sometimes repro carts do wonky stuff if they don't include the inner clock.

As I play through LeafGreen, it makes me realize that these are the Pokemon games I engaged with least. I owned it as a kid, but I was kind of burnt out on Pokemon and did the bare minimum of beating the game and a quick run through the Sevii islands. I'm playing Ruby for the first time in 20+ years (but in Japanese) on mGBA. I found I can just load my save on a Sapphire ROM, so I can get version exclusives just by renaming the save which is cool. I'm also creating save states before certain points so I can get Pokémon through trading (starters, Groudon/Kyogre, Latios/Latias, Deep Sea Tooth/Deep Sea Scale).

Problem is that when I open a multiplayer window, mGBA doesn't find any save files to load, whether they're .sav, .sa2, or whatever, meaning I'd have to start all over again. Anyone deal with this?

Either they did something to the catch formula or I'm having the worst luck in all my years of playing these games. Everything adamantly refuses to stay in a ball, and I'm even using Sleep over Paralysis. It took me five resets to catch one of the two Snorlax and in my first Safari Zone run I only caught two Pokemon with my thirty balls.

Skipped the Sevil Island quest to beat Giovanni first for Macho Brace. Grinding some Gastlys with it with Starmie before I do it. Won't do any stat maxing but Starmie being a newer team member is making it fall behind Sandslash.

Turns you lose either having to switch or resetting sleep. it's only an extra 2 turns with and thunder wave has 100 accuracy unlike stun spore so you lose no turn to potential miss. Also just way faster to get raticate set up if you're using multiple save files to hunt. Super Fang has the additionally benefit of not putting Deoxys at 1 hp in the even of it reaching struggle which isn't impossible. It's just better.

How often do romhacks cause bad eggs? If you're concerned about struggle, Superfang is worse since you're wasting turns, sleep will save far more PP than paralyze ever will, not to mention the improved catch rate. You only have to switch once. In the end the differences are minute and don't make a big difference. It only matters when shiny hunting and you have to get it right in which case you have to go with false swipe and sleep.

again wrong. Fire Red Deoxys has Superpower which I purposefully didn't mention since I knew you didn't know what you're talking about. Struggle is doing 1 damage a turn. You get an extra 4-5 turns at least after the turns used to superfang.

Oh yeah. Didn't mention it also knows taunt. have fun having it wake up and taunt you so you can't put it back to sleep immediately. And that's with Pressure so Spore is only getting 8 pp unless you want to give it pp ups which is an actual waste. Compare this to paralyzing it first turn with thunder wave and never needing to worry about it again.

Can you not understand how little difference there is between x1.5 and x2 there is with a pokemon with an extremely low catch rate? With Ultra Ball Deoxys is a 1.234% catch rate paralyzed 1.598% catch rate asleep. You are much much better off throwing balls than you are continuously putting it too sleep.

Raticate with Super Fang and Thunder Wave is the best option in all regards. Even in LG when the Deoxys moveset is less of an issue it's still significantly quicker and easier to get it ready for the hunt, and you will most likely catch it sooner just throwing balls at a paralyzed one then you are having to keeping putting it back to sleep.

This is the 3rd time in my life I've ever encountered a shiny in the wild

Just beat the Champ. Had to grind against the E4 for a bit. Venasaur hit level 52, other 3 members in the 40's. Probably won't bother with the rematches, just post story on the islands then shiny hunting Deoxys.

Venasaur, Starmie, Jolteon, Sandslash, and revive bait HM slaves. Sandslash cleaned house most of the game but could barely do dick to the E4. Mostly swept with Starmie but Jolteon learning Thunder Wave naturally helped. That and a lot of Leech Seed stalling with Venasaur.

You can always farm money beating the two lady class trainers to the east of Fuschia City, they give you like 10k with the amulet coin.

It's a re-thread of gen 1. Gen 1 was designed as a traditional JRPG and in gen 3 that still was the case, multiplayer (PvP) was an afterthought, a cool thing you could do but the games weren't designed with that in mind.
TMs are the equivalent to weapons, strong or unique weapons are rare, this is also why most of the gen 1 level up learnsets are absolute ass but TM learn list are amazing

I can't remember, but once I get on Mr. Briney's ship and go to Dewford, am I prevented from backtracking until I can use Rock Smash and go through Verdanturf Tunnel?

Also, if you load your file in the opposite version while Team Magma/Aqua are loaded in the area, the overworld sprites will still match the original game, but the script and battles will match the game you're playing. And after the battle it'll still be the opposite version sprite because the overworld is retained between battles
