Always check the pots and desecrate the skeletons, you might find something. By the way, there is no money, monsters RARELY drop pearls for you to sell. Can't save everywhere either, but there are plenty spots so far. They don't heal you, though.

It was a 4/5 hack for me. References aside, some of the backtracking was tedious and bonus rewards were shit (just more elixirs 9/10 times). You feel really weak for a majority of the game, which may have been the intent, but still. The dev should have gave the player the morning star instead of an infinite use mattock since you are starved for weapon variety until you get the axe, after that they kinda come in at a decent pace. Making keys more like zelda-series keys rather than just things you need to buy and hope you use efficiently was smart. Certain sprite choices were smart (the ruined forest town being full of undead was a cool touch) others not so much and just kinda weird (the enemy choices outside of the usual lot of ninjas and demon heads in the final stretch of the game were uhhhh). Kinda wack how half of the spirits used other old sprites and half were new sprites. Some of the dungeon design was pretty nifty. I also liked some of the characters and story beats,
Nice for people who have played the hell out of FFA, but not a hard replacement and honestly, I still enjoy the original FFA more overall .

My brain says that middle is more accurate, but in reality, it probably was closer to left. I had a game boy travel bag that had a super mario land screenshot on the screen and a trippy patterened shiny plastic screen. It resembled the left most. Wish I could find an image, it had a small belt with a buckle and two extra pockets on the belt for cartridges.
