Every WEG that was good seems to have switched to AI animation. You will randomly have these moments where it starts playing a video with weirdly smooth overly animated animation. The movements at times seem very random, clearly no one actually animated it with a clear purpose. Is there a consensus on first person VNs versus third person ones? to elaborate, I'm trying to decide between showing my main character on screen whenever he's talking, or to just not show his perspective.
As far as I remember, the only game I've played that does a third person thing is Summertime Saga. my MC isn't going to look as distinct (loser-ish) as that guy though. But he's also not going to be the typical blank slate protagonist without any real personality. It's not like I'd hide him either, he'll definitely show up, face and all, in the sex scenes. I've also got the ideas for a few shots to be in first person, like watching his girlfriend undress in front of him, and getting her panties thrown into his face. Maybe it'd just be distracting, or weird to keep switching between the two styles. I would show him here, but I'm still trying to figure out how to make a decent design in Koikatsu that doesn't look like a little boy.

Sounds like you need to start looking into other games. Toxicity seems like it updates frequently. Superheroes Suck has frequent smaller updates. Hell even Projeckt: Passion has had three updates in the past year.
