>>65193428 thanks fren haven't been around in a while, wheres my homie burt? >>65193442 >Shooting more .45 Supers out of this tomorrow. you have my attention sir
>>65193452 Estimated velocity ~900fps out of a 4" barrel with 250 and 260gr bullets per GRT. No confirmation yet as I don't own a chronograph. I can borrow one eventually but not available this weekend.
Ever notice that dreams occur at super speed? They start and are over in a flash but it feels like real time when it's happening. We can perceive them as hours-long but it may only take 8 minutes in the upworld. A 20 minute dream might happen in 2 minutes. There's no disconnect, no lag, no loss of sensation or thought, no need for a pause or buffering for our minds to keep up with this breakneck dreamspeed. It's effortless maximum efficiency thought. We are perfectly capable of operating and reacting at dreamspeed, yet here we sit imprisoned in our wakeful flesh mechs, shackled at 5% efficiency of thought and action.
2/2 Mines the 4" model. Had to get a DPM spring setup since Wolff only makes rods and 24# springs for the 4.5" M&Ps. I post all my loads in /rg/ if you want to see the data. None are too, too hot but definitely spicier than +p
>>65193456 900 from a 4in isn't bad for those weights....i suppose depending on purpose. I'd probably go for something around 200gr for a little more velocity from a barrel that short.
>>65193476 Neat! I was not aware of this. Can you still shoot normal 45aarp without a spring /rsa swap? Because that was my goal with my g21, but damn it's big to carry. >>65193487 Someday I'll get into custom loading. Keep the spirit alive my friend. I had great hopes for .400 corbon. It would have made a great carbine round.
>>65193505 See >>65193487 You'll need a stronger spring. 22# or 24#. DPM claims theirs is 25# of force with the slide locked open. Plenty of boomer forums say 1911s and supers are good with 22#s. I'd imagine that's for Buffalo Bore or Underwood, I always go for 24#+. I don't load Bubba's pissin hot levels, but I like the extra weight as insurance.
>>65193514 Ahh. Good stuff. I was more just wondering if you had to get a new barrel too, like the .460 Rowland modifications. Thanks for the info, anon!
>>65193511 >still shoot normal 45aarp without a spring /rsa swap? I shot some 185gr Autos on 8.0grs of Long Shot, then 185gr Supers on 10.0grs of Long Shot with the same spring. Light target SWCs probably wouldn't cycle. I shot Supers in my factory stock USP without issues. I still got a 2nd recoil assembly and 20# outer spring (factory is 14#) because I can.
>>65193517 >new barrel That's why I like Supers. As long as it's a mostly/fully supported chamber (not a factory G21 type) and you can upgrade the spring weight (mandatory) and the frame can handle 10mm (technically no since there isn't a 1.0 10mm M&P) then yeah it should be able to shoot moderate Supers.
>>65193517 I've mentioned it before.... I considered doing 460 on my g21. I would not do 460 on anything but a 1911 steel frame. I would not do .45super/smc on a g41 either.
>>65193564 Because the 41 has a thinner frame. It's barrel profile and chamber are also thinner, even with an aftermarket barrel due to frame dimensions. I personally spoke to Luke McIntire at kkm on the phone for about 30 minutes about the subject of a 460 conversion and a g41 super conversion. tl;dr Luke said hed like to keep all of his fingersm
How do you go about choosing a modern compact striker fired pistol for CC? There are dozens of different competitive options, and to my fudd ass they all seem to do the same thing.
>>65193634 >>65193664 price is probably like $800 tops. Honestly I don't think I'll carry very much but I would like to take a class and learn how to. So having something that's fun to shoot at paper/plinking would be a big plus.
>>65193726 >LW Oh lol that's me. I'd still be curious about Super in a 41. Just not ones in the 34k PSI range. Like ones I'd shoot in my M&P. >>65193663 I seat them deeper to ensure they chamber. It's in a 4" barrel. In picrel they gain a lot more velocity (6")
>>65193623 Vibes honestly. Every reputable manufacturer makes a reliable strikerslop compact now, so pick whichever one speaks to you and you'll probably be fine.
>>65193767 >when you have to smack the back of the gun I played 40k when I was in middle school. Space Marines of course. Back when each guy consisted of 4 pieces and it blew my mind when they went to 7+ I still have a pewter vindicator somewhere... But if I got back into it again, and I won't because I'd rather reload than actually put in time to learn to get good at painting... But! If I did, I'd have a 3,000 point Ork army :D
>>65193800 OK to answer your question if you're >>65193767 The answer is once with SWCs I seated a little too deep. See >>65176703 and >>65179230 Didn't have to hit the slide, they wouldn't chamber if I tried. Lesson learned.
>>65193648 If it's a 9 or 45 yes absolutely buy it right now don't wait until tomorrow. If it's 40 it's still a pretty good deal assuming it is actually almost new. But you could find plenty of used 40s around that price since they were surplused out by a bunch of PDs, I'd still do it though
Anyone ever step back and look at their handguns think that their collection is so weird? I have a P89, a cheapo XD9, two Glock clones, an emissary and a P30L. There's no rhyme or reason, no common design choice or theme. People who categorize their collections into more than just 'i like it" are dedicated consumers and I can respect that.
>>65193892 I'm not messing with you I'm trying to get you to think. It's a matter of perspective, opinion and skill. It's totally subjective. My point is if you don't know why you would want to spend more money, there's no reason to. I don't know where your skill is at but if it's not high, money buys nothing. A range membership, a case of ammo and a holster would be far more useful to a new gun owner than spending another $500 on the gun alone
>How do you go about choosing a modern compact striker fired pistol for CC? Omitting subjective things and an objective a hardware ceiling, I answered -price -how it makes you feel
The former is an objective measure, it's universally preferred to spend less money. The latter is subjective, if the reason you want to buy a more expensive gun is that you think it's cool, you love how it looks or whatever then buy it
But outside that, if you don't know why, you don't need to spend more. I'm certainly not at a skill level where spending more objectively benefits me
Get something cheap, ubiquitous, available. A Dagger, an M&P M2.0, a P-09, an XD Mod 3, a P365, an LCP, whatever, it really doesn't matter. Even obscure stuff is mostly fine. You know the size and weight you want, you have hands to check ergonomics at gun stores, you have gun.deals to find low prices, you have all the tools you need. All you need to know now is that the smaller smaller and lighter it is the less pleasant it is to shoot, and that will make it harder for you to learn
Just today I put down the full payment to reserve my first handgun. Won't be getting it till the end of next month since it's still in the import process however. Did I do good? I'd like to think it was a solid choice.
>>65194007 That's valid enough, but the little niches some people get into make their collection more interesting. I've got a friend that's trying to collect all pistols tested and used by the US military. He just can't get his hands on a sphinx spd
>>65194079 Don't get me wrong, I do prefer the hammer guns. Personally I think that the sp2022 would probably fit most people's needs much better than a 320 but they silently discontinued that and now the price is going up.
>>65194174 Why don't you post yours? Clearly you have some experience with it if you're going to go against the general consensus of it being a good service pistol.
>>65194207 He'll never post with a timestamp. We both know it. >>65194196 >I lIvE iN a FlYoVeR sTaTe Wow we're totally impressed... That's sarcasm in case your corn fed brain didn't understand
>>65193752 I don't know which generation your Glock is but there's generally lots of gap between the slide and grip frame so plenty of ingress for dust. However, the clearances allow for it's never been considered an issue with the design. Also, a well lubricated pistol is going to attract debris in general
>>65193648 If it's a USP45 then definitely. Otherwise, the USP40 is for women and the USP9 is inferior to Glock
>>65193380 I didn't post that and have no reason to. Made peace with /hg/ last year and it has endured in spite the provocation from S.E.G, 1BFA, Burt, et c
>>65194207 If what you're saying is you have to post a sigpro with a timestamp in order to be able to talk on this, then you're welcome to also shut up.
>>65194224 >post a sigpro with a timestamp Why would I own some fag gun like that? I posted my Siggers, you'll never convince me that you actually own a gun.
>>65194008 Thanks for the write up. I have a full frame Wonder Nine that I am not very experienced with, but know very little about the current crop of handguns. I guess it was more of daydreaming looking at what's on the market than practical plans to pick up a new handgun in the immediate future.
>>65194264 Just letting you know I can do this for another 800 posts if I have to. It's Friday night and I have nothing better to do than get you to act like a chimpanzee.
>>65194197 I would say Kimbers are step up from Rocks easily since Rock double stacks are the old Para pattern which aren't supported by aftermarket anymore, the 2K11 is great and is worth their price tag, the new Warrior DS is made in the same factory as the 2K11 (their new Troy AL plant), but is 1k cheaper. It strips alot of features from the 2k11, it uses a standard 1911 slide with a bushing barrel reusing Kimber's old tooling, uses an internal extractor vs the external of the 2k11.
>>65194279 Man, it's crazy that I can just tell you that I'm intentionally getting you to post like an idiot and you still do it. Get your lead levels checked
>>65194288 >Man, it's crazy that I can just tell you that I'm intentionally getting you to post like an idiot and you still do it. Get your lead levels checked >t. How much do you get paid per reply, poonjeet?
>>65194313 There isn't, sp2022 is fine. Siggers never liked the thing because they think sigs should all be metal framed. It's part of the reason the thing never took off state side in the first place. Da/SA wasn't popular with the poly frame fans at the time and polymer framed was a no go for the Sig fan boys. The only complaint of even some validity I've heard on the thing is that finding flat baseplates was hard at times.
>>65194241 Almost everything is so excellent it's hardly worth consideration beyond price and preference anymore, you almost can't go wrong. There will ALWAYS be some brandsperg egging you on or shitting on your choice, 98% of the time they don't own or have the slightest model-relevant experience either way so just ignore them and go with your heart/wallet
See for example: this ongoing turbobitch spergfest between a noguns citing outdated memes and a hasguns who doesn't own the model he's vehemently condemning
>>65194251 I'm pretty sure it's all plastic, it definitely feels like it. I'm not taking it off to check. I never even use it, maybe 10 times since I got it.
>>65194431 Man, they're everywhere right now. Considering the condition I got mine in and the price I paid, I think they are starting to hit the "fair-good" stock. I'm pissed I missed the Grand power LP9M though. A modern 9x18 platform available in the usa? I must've been an idiot to drag my feel on that one.
>>65194428 >>65194431 >>65194456 >Mfw I always wanted a Makarov to complete my STALKER larp >Mfw I never new you could get these for 200 bucks Please tell me these vz82's are good...
>>65194428 do mags for that actually exist now? i remember its used to be only what came with the gun and if you were lucky enough to find them it was 50-60 bucks.
>>65194438 Yea, it's a 60s production Yugo. Unfortunately it's a piece of shit that catastrophically FTEs every couple of rounds. I think I've found out the issue but I need a whole ass hammer assembly.
>>65194506 i've got like 19 hours to go before i can post back there. aw shucks to your last. also my mags shipped finally. i checked the holster confirmation, it can take 4-7 days on shipping after completion. im not patient enough for this shit t.t
>>65194471 I like mine. It's simple blowback so after a couple of boxes it starts to hurt a little, but it's fun. >>65194476 With enough patience you can find the good ones with the proof mark and the leather pouch for like $35. >>65194493 Damn, that sucks. Before I got my vz52 I was dead set on a zastava m57. The blue grips on the nickel finish is very nice looking.
I hate to come back here, but it is either deal with garbage captcha +9000 seconds of wait time, or sign up for reddit.... ::shiver:: What a the options for wood grips on a CZ Shamwow 2 Compact? The cheap G10 grips I got fit, but if I can get scales, I want classy bitch wood... I got it for $720 otd so I'm not really looking to spend a crap ton...
>>65194512 >it can take 4-7 days on shipping after completion 12 days for commission + 7 day shipping. 19 days maximum for a custom shoulder holster? I don’t think that’s too bad. I just hope their leather work is high quality >i've got like 19 hours to go before i can post back there How did you get banned rofl?
>>65194532 idk what all i can say about it but don't criticize that indian in there. also yeah it's not too long all things considered. i just want it now but i will wait the best i can.
>>65193592 pretty sure you gay as hell... P320 trigger sucks if you don;t spend as much on it as a comparable 2011, and then you still shoot your dick off... A top of the line 320 should have been RMX tier if they didn't pay for the military subscription plan...
>>65194809 Don't know what that means nor have I seen anyone actually buy one of those things. Unless HK solved the micro gun parts lifespan problems I can buy a Taurus for 250.
>>65194878 If you watched the video he's spammed it doesn't show proof of what is claimed, it's the equivalent to listening to a Sig Employee tell you that the 320 has no problems and its better than ever.
>>65194844 hey pal, anon is saying your youtube video was ass and basically it proved nothing >>65194881 >>65194886 okay i got your back now let him have it
>>65194685 My preferred holster is the Desantis Slim-Tuk. They're cheap and come molded for most EDC guns. Also, you can flip the claw around if you're wrong handed like me.
>>65194385 H&K designed the USP because of .40 S&W which was developed to accommodate women who get filtered by 10mm Automatisk therefore the USP40 is analogues to the Walther F[emale]-series >9 is for melanin removal Fixed that for you!
>>65195174 I've been wearing them for years and have never broken a claw. They're fairly flexible, so I can't imagine what those reviewers were doing to break it.
