I love how those big, stupid, impractical, heavy suppressors look so much it's unreal. It's pure IRL neonoir cyberpunk aesthetic, I think because it has similar lines to the xboxhueg LAMs on pistols from the 80s that were part of the defining aesthetic of the cyberpunk heavy pisol meme.

New gun purchased. I’ve been in a market for a classic revolver for a long time and stumbled on one on a whim checking out a local shop I hadn’t been to in years. Wasn’t until after I bought it I realized it was somewhat rare. It’s a 1973 model Security Six with the fixed sights. One year later all the fixed sight versions were rebranded to Service Six for the police. Disassembled it and gave it a thorough oil and lube job it desperately needed. Gunna take real good care of it.

he's talking out of his ass, if you're shooting stuff that exceeds 500 ftlbs at the muzzle it's fine. nobody actually wants to shoot "full power 10mm" which is like a 200 gr at 1200 FPS
the slower stuff at 180 @ 1200 fps or 200 gr at 1100 is perfectly fine and per the FBI more in the sweet spot of lethality and follow up shots.

bwos can you buy glow sight tritium juice and apply it to your sights?
or is that shit actually radioactive and unobtanium now?
my front sight doesn't come off so i cant just buy a set of sights
>>
>>
>>65198976
Tritium is actually radioactive (although isn't harmful in normal circumstances), and you can't just buy paint of it. Paint also wouldn't even work, the tritium needs to decay and collide with a phosphorescent substance. It's the phosphor that actually glows, the tritium just provides the energy. You need to put the tritium in the vial aimed at the phosphor so to speak, you can't just get a tritium/phosphor sludge of paint and expect it to work (or expect that to not set off radioactive alarm bells).
If, however, you just want glow in the dark paint, then there's tons of that around. It just won't constantly glow like actual tritium will.

Went shooting this weekend and practiced some 25 yard shots. Left target is one handed, right target is two handed. I’m not sure why I had better grouping one handed, but fewer hits on paper. I definitely need to slow down and work on my trigger press when two handed, I might be squeezing with my firing hand too hard

>I love how those big, stupid, impractical, heavy suppressors look so much it's unreal.
Me too, but I'll note that Maxim 9 at least wasn't heavy or impractical despite looking all big and slabby. The weight balance was quite pleasant. 9mm (or any other typical handgun round) are such powder puffs vs rifles that someone is free to use much lighter construction and still be sufficiently durable. Dunno what they did with the one in OP but there's no inherent reason it couldn't be fairly nice.
The look is definitely kino and the main point though.

>>65199538
Your groups will open up under the insane stress of an defensive shooting. That's why when you go to the range, you should be trying to achieve the best accuracy possible while maintaining a reasonable, consistent speed. You fucking retard.

One of the considerations I had when picking out a new compact was choosing something my wife also enjoyed shooting and could do so without FTF issues due to her weak wrists and small hands.
The serrations also made it easier for her to get a solid grip and rack the slide.
>>
>>65200212
The funniest part about this is the full size polymer PDP grip with the large backstrap is still slightly too small for me, and I don't have freakishly large hands. It's so over for you if you're a guy who prefers the PDP-F. I can't even conceive of a male hand that small.

I checked some of the websites in the pdf but am struggling to find a holster to wear inside my waistband, appendix draw, on one of those concealed carry belts. I have a Rock Island AL3.1 revolver and I've had issues with speed loaders already. Does anyone have this gun and know similar guns I can look for in product descriptions for compatibility and the like? If I get any leather holster advertised as working well with snub nosed revolvers will I be ok? I was really put off buying accessories for this thing when I learned like every speed loader at the gun store won't work on it and I'm worried I'll run into a similar issue with a holster.
Not located in the pdf I found a few websites: craftholsters and barsony, but since they aren't in the pdf I'm worried they're low quality or something. I didn't think this was some unique contrarian gun when I bought it I thought I was just getting a well made but affordable wheel gun.

Got a RIA 10mm after wanting to get a 10mm for years but could never justify it until now (got a reloading setup and some cash selling a Glock 45). Bought a HC Tac 10mm for a little over 500$. I feel a little bad for why he sold it but I could understand and will be holding onto it indefinitely , still hope the guy is doing well and he finds peace in his life.

Should be pretty easy to narrow down though.
Start with caliber and how much you care about modern refinements vs "traditional" stuff. Then you can really limit the options pretty aggressively.
Unless you want to spend big premium money, your best bet is the usual players. Tisas, Ruger, Springfield, Kimber (they're turning around). If you have a bigger budget and can figure out exactly what you want, Dan Wesson or Ed Brown are the step up. Nighthawk is kind of a meme.

The book lists it as Griswold and Gunnison #2708. For the life of me I can't figure out what it is and judging by the rest of the G&G designs my guess is some sort of blast shield? Or second hand reinforcement because of the brass frame? Probably aftermarket alteration you can see how it sort of clips and folds around the standard frame.

Slight newfag when it comes to funs here so forgive if this is a stupid question
I got a used stainless steel barrel recently and after running my fingers along the top i noticed a bit of a taper
is that normal?
the rifling inside looks fine, but about half way on the outside it feels like a bump occurs leading to the locking lugs
i checked my old black barrel and its way more subtle than the stainless one so not sure if its because i didnt use my black one much or just manufactured differently
>>
>>
>>
File: file.jpg (263.9 KB)
>>65201455
you think that might be it?
i think you can see the taper more on the stainless one here
the black is 4.9 and the steel is 4.7
steel one seems to get thinner towards the front
>>
>>
>>
>>65198863
Yeah, if you want wimpy FBI lite loads, aka .40 slow&weak. 10mm should be 10mm, not .40s&w. Brands like doubletap, buffalo bore, and underwood load their 10mm strong.

What would cause my gun to not fully reset when I'm holding the trigger down after a shot. It doesn't always happen but it happens often enough to be a concern. I can just tap it lightly and it will fully slide forward but it gets "stuck" here. I've oiled every part I can't think of. Only happens when I'm holding the trigger for a reset. If I'm just racking it it's buttery smooth. I did replace the reset spring and oiled it and all. Shit is still doing it.
>>
>>65201646
Burr on the out of battery safety thingy? It's usually a bump on the trigger bar that fits a notch in the slide. Could be a burr on the barrel hood. Does it still do it with the barrel out? Does it do it when live firing?

It almost happens exclusively during live fire. I have to really try to get it to stick when it's empty for it to happen. And again only when holding the trigger down to simulate a reset

Solved it. Was reading more online and someone suggested loosing up your light to someone having similar issues, if it's too tight the frame squeeze it. Just loosened it up and was unable to replicate my failure after trying for 5 mins. I can normally get it to "lock" up after a few tries. Thank you for your help anyways though. Here's the whole setup. I ungabungad the screw on the light and it compressed the grip enough to slow it down the last bit up front. I should have made the connection because I would test it after I swapped every part, spring, frame and the rods in it, comp and it worked great. The light was the last thing I added which is when the issues started I just never thought something so "exterior" to the weapon would affect the operation of it.
