There might be some shitters in NASCAR, but it is the highest level of one of the most popular forms of racing in the world. The guys that make it there are typically extremely competitive. Any rally enjoyers on that could give more details on the WRC "pilot event"? When I first heard they were doing one in KY/TN this summer I was super interested. But the more I heard about it the more it didn't seem like an actual event, like WRC officials were just going to show up and look for stages, or attend a local event instead of bringing the whole WRC circus with.

Has anyone been to a WRC pilot event or know more details about how they usually go? Would I be able to buy tickets and see the real deal?

it's just a local/national level rally organized by the original wrc round organiser to demonstrate they won't fuck up the big deal. If there will be any rally1s (usually there isnt but FIA is very very focused on the WRC USA project so they may actually hand over some money so you will get to see 1 from all 3 manufacturers.
for this reason I would expect rally jannies and organisers to be even stricter about safety than on a regular wrc round because they want to prove themselves
But yeah simply expect a bit better organisation or service area than on a regular ARA round and the field of ARA competing, so Rally2 top with maybe 3 rally1s as zero cars. Also expect Jann HUssi and Hanninen to compete

Current cars are around 800k reduced from 1.2 mil when they had hybrid. In the early 00s a Focus WRC was 1.5mil or more if you adjust the inflation. The faggot promoter was doing a dogshit at best work in the past 5 years.
