I managed a fairly good haul of bionicle and other random lego parts last Thursday on a tight time limit and somewhat tight budget, >>11719232 with a bit of the bionicle stuff being bought just for bulk spray paint reasons and testing out how certain plastics deal with that better than others, while stuff like the tub from the ship was “I could see you on the top, get in my order” where it turned out to be a rare enough part, albiet needing a bit more soap and scrubbing to get the crud out

It’s really frustrating that you keep making threads before other people get a chance to. And you don’t even create fun discussion with your images about upcoming Lego releases. Lego keeps releasing information and high production marketing images and I feel like you are intentionally diverting discussions just to bother me and everyone else who enjoys new releases and instead you are so invested in cringey stuff like minifigures and MOCs. There is a whole community of people who prefer going to the store and buying new Lego and following instructions and creating works of art in their own homes. And your hostility towards this vast majority of Lego fans is really tiring, toxic and troublesome.

>(Illegal) aliens are the bad guys. What did the Lego group mean by this?
>>11719320
>>whole theme revolves around white cops arresting illegal aliens and pimps
there's a classic story about Space Police 3, where it was Lego's intention to have alien race cops. but the test kids always made the aliens bad guys, and when told some of the aliens were the good guys, and some of the regular humans were bad guys, the kids got confused, and in their kid-like-honesty, told the Lego group "that's stupid" (or something like that)
Lego conceded, and just made all the aliens bad guys. so blame the test kids? it was a different time, when sales were more important than "messaging". Lego wanted to sell sets, not confuse kids
probably a reason Lego hasn't done Space Police 4 yet (?)

-kids won't care. it's just a hole.... what's the big deal??
[secretly doing backflips in head, I can't believe they are about to approve this hole placement on this $200 set!!! okay calm down, just make it through the meeting...]
I mean, at some point you have to give the dude (?) props. he's making his dream come true. if you were a Lego designer, what would you try and sneak into a set? (I really miss the cheerleader guy, he had a good run for a hot minute)

so much of my old childhood lego from the 80s / 90s has bite marks on them, mostly because I used to pry apart the bricks using my teeth like a retard
Though it's actually pretty funny, people talk about quality of modern lego vs. the old stuff and I discovered when going through all my old lego a while back and organizing it that almost all of the blue bricks from the 90s had the same "brittle blue" symptom that some bricks from the 2000s had, literally crumbling in my hands. Also so much yellowing, so many of the white bricks and the old light grey were significantly yellowed.

>Yeah kids aren't the marketing demographic for Pokemon or legos at all
I find it strange that Lego still "pretends" that Lego is for kids, while selling $370 Ninjago sets. Ninjago is the mind-blowing one, since I thought of all the themes, that was the most kid-targeted
in any case, it helps the fetish guy peddle his set designs. moooorrrrreeee POOOOOP! Kids think it's funny! we are still selling to kids, right? [bluffing, knowing Lego execs can't admit it]
>>

>a-wing pilot is not a smart minifig
Literally the only expectation I had for this was that the pilot would scream his lungs out with the shart brick, I cannot believe they passed on such a simple and iconic thing.
Every single smart minifig adds extra sounds for when you "crash" with these builds, it's literally already a thing and fucking no one in the entirety of tlg thought it would be a good idea to add it here as well? Because you know, that's what the a-wing pilot is literally the most famous for, kamikaziing into the super star destroyer while screaming his lungs out?
It's just baffling to me, like did these guys even watch the movies or not?

It doesn't even have the panic/fear face anymore. They just don't know or just don't care anymore.
The USC A-Wing still had the face because they most likely reused the minifig head from older sets, but a control panel that has the super star destroyer bridge represented was completely absent, while it used to be present in EVERY SINGLE previous play set before, dating all the way back to the original 2000 one.
It's the exact same crap as calling the republic gunship "an original trilogy set". They just don't know and/or care anymore.

One of Yidsneed’s biggest mistakes with Star Wars was killing the EU, and all of the good shop designs from it, all to satisfy mrs epstein’s ruination fetish, genuinely hundreds if not even a thousand good ones tucked in there that just now will never see the light of day because of a whore.

>One of Yidsneed’s biggest mistakes with Star Wars was killing the EU
nah, it was sadly the only option. they wanted complete freedom to make up new stories. and the fans kinda already had a loose understanding that the EU stuff was kinda not-Lucas "made-up junk" anyway.
even if Lucas had not sold SW, and was going to do new movies himself, he would have ignored all the post episode-6 stories
the bad part is that Disney replaced it with terrible stories, nightmares beyond comprehension. only when comparing it to the EU, can we say with certainty that the EU was better. they had every opportunity to make amazing things and blew it
and... Disney has back-pedaled way more than they should have, and re-included popular EU stuff, including characters and ships

>>11719905
>Got anymore examples?
I was referring to the character design. hot babe in a tight jumpsuit and cool helmet. (I was too lazy to crop-out the ship picture)
take Boba Fett's ridiculous biker gang. any single one of them, removed from the story, is "alright-looking" the hot chick has a cool mysterious human-hand on the end of a robot arm (crazy, right?!) and the guy with the duster coat who spun around to shoot, was neat, in a silly way. the colored-chrome bikes are varied and neat, even if they look silly all next to each other, mostly because it's all-tan Tatooine (if they were on Coruscant, they would be 100% less-ridiculous)
my point was the ART is fine, it's the stories around them that are awful (and yeah some of the art sucks, like that dull-green alien with droopy face, you know the one I'm talking about. wait, they all are dull-green with droopy faces? all of them??? lol they are)

The old EU was an unwieldy monster that had grown out of control in a dozen different directions it was never meant to. It was so big and bloated that it needed to die. I will not defend what Disney has done with it in the meantime, but plenty of EU stuff has been coming back, and in a more sensible way. Everything in the old version was a patchwork mess. Now they can cherry pick the stuff that could work and fold it into a fresh version of the universe. Honestly hoping that with Ahsoka and the World Between Worlds they can somehow retcon Emperor Saltine's return and undo the sequels. Then have fresh board going forward without the future ghosts of those movies hanging over everything.

>Honestly hoping that with Ahsoka and the World Between Worlds they can somehow retcon Emperor Saltine's return and undo the sequels. Then have fresh board going forward without the future ghosts of those movies hanging over everything.
the best we can hope for is Ahsoka peeking into a World-Between-World window and watching the happy ending we all imagined with Luke/Leia/Han being great for 5 seconds, and then she fudges something up to bring back The Emperor. whoops! and that's why we got the new garbage.
let's not forget the Lego Star Wars Rebuild The Galaxy series introduced a different reset button, and that one had already been pushed!
the sad truth is; Disney simply can't admit defeat. even if they wanted to. there's no way they could say "Sorry everyone! that last ten years? we can all forget about that, M'kay?! we all cool with that?!" they would just repeat another garbage story (maybe even WORSE??? lol)

yes, kind of.
it's fun to browse the toy aisles at a Target or Walmart, and watch the bored parent debate purchases with the child. "pick one toy." "that's too much." "you can have only one of these" "you sure you want to get this one?" stuff like that. I rarely see unattended children, but it happens.

I also enjoy the leak pics. that guy just can't seem to understand that not everybody goes to the same place to look for leaks, and enjoy seeing them here. plus it encourages discussion about them, with visual references.
also, I wouldn't be surprised if they did the truck guy, but the only way they'd do random other characters is if these sold massively, and for such high prices, that seems unlikely
it's a shame the builds would be completely dependent on windshield stickers, so there's no way to MOC them yourself...

you refuse to hear this, but "General Lego Discussion" includes upcoming product. it's better to discuss such new product with a visual image to reference. you might not believe this, but some people are not as good as you, and come here to see the leaks, for the first time! wow! you mean, they DON'T check some other site? nope! they come here, and only here, for the upcoming product pics! those idiots! feel free to laugh at them for not knowing the Internet as good as you. congratulations to you.
general discussion also includes video blogger review critiques. I'm personally not a fan of that, but I understand it's relevant, and I ignore it best I can.
for your own mental health, (I assume, sorry if that's not the case) you need to come to peace with the fact that you are not going to remove those discussions from this place, and understand that your constant rage against it, is the disruption you seek to avoid

Image dump folder and put all for that month into it, repost if somebody asks and update for the month until next month, if you can’t understand you don’t deserve to post on this site.
>>
>>11720431
it's so much easier though to post a picture and say "look at this thing in this pic" than it is to say "I'm talking about image 31 of the dump folder from this link, check it out and come back here"
nobody knows, or cares to learn, how to upload pics into a dump folder thing. it's easier to save a pic, and post a pic. this IS an "image board" for posting pics, not links to folders of pics.
I will agree, that simply posting 100 pics of new product, without comments enticing discussions on them, is not ideal. each pic should have a purpose. some people think posting the pic IS an invitation to discussion, so I can understand your frustration when there's nothing but 100 pics and no comments on them, that does seem like the function of a different site. but if we want to talk about those pics, it clearly helps to post them here.

>Phasma are absolute killers
I thought I read somewhere that Phasma was a "test" of the fandom, they purposefully designed the most bad-ass character they could think of, cast a highly-popular actor at the time (she was Game of Thrones fan favorite) and made Phasma a total punk failure of a character in the story. since they thought that's what happened to Boba Fett (his death was a silly-joke-moment)
they legit thought that Phasma was going to be "the next Boba Fett" break-out semi-background character

>They dun goofed so fucking hard.
they goofed on purpose. they wanted maximum goof, mixed with epic visual design
they literally thought the audience would be dumb enough to care about her only because the way she looked (super bad-ass!!!)
in that specific case, it was another thing they failed at (the audience rejected her and her dumb story), but they didn't learn the lesson from their own science experiment, and kept making dumb stories for all the main-main characters, too.
>>
>>
>>11720811
The difference is that Boba Fett was a cool badass bounty hunter who was completely unique looking. Phasma was just a Stormtrooper with chrome armor and a cape.
And she just got dealt with in such a goofy, weird way in the first movie, and then seems to come back in a "Somehow, Phasma came back" in the second movie. If they angle was that they were trying to make some "cool badass" marketable character they just failed because she was just a non character to begin with. Who didn't even look all that cool either.
>>
>>
>>
>>11720882
Lego dares not encourage kids to destroy and re-build Lego over and over again. it doesn't work that way anymore. is the plastic different? (probably?)
try this science experiment: take a 2x4 brick, and a couple of 2x2 bricks. snap them all snuggly together. tight! while watching TV or a movie or something, autistic-ally fiddle with them. taking them apart, snapping them together. over and over. after a while.... they are not as snug as they were at first???? and rather loose now? how is that happening????? don't believe me? try it!

Oh absolutely. The curious thing is I think there were a couple of cool looking lowlifes in TFA. It’s just they didn’t ever do anything. Like pic related. I don’t know anything about him. He was going to hire Finn or something. Wasted opportunity. He should have had a character moment. And then show up later. Remember That random stormtrooper who yells traitor? That guy was probably the only competent bad guy in the whole movie. And it sucks. No one evil gets a moment. in Empire Boba succeeds even if he’s a side character with little screen time. He accomplished his mission. Even if the only fighting we saw him do was fend off Luke for 3 seconds, he’s shown to be a competent tracker and hunter who accomplished his mission and bested the heroes. And looked cool doing it. Yeah he was a joke the next movie but he was cool enough in Empire to coast his way to stardom for decades until BOBF somehow ruined him.
>>
>>11720918
it's a neat theme, first year is a weird mash of things and feels like a holdover from the '90s
second year is really neat with how the bad guy sets are a bunch of fucked up mutant sea creatures, really good about the translucent parts too
iirc the third year was a mixed bag due to the 2000's edge starting to creep in but i remember liking the online game, transforming sets was a cool gimmick but not implemented the greatest

HI Anons. Some time ago, a friend here told me he'd love to build his own Star Trek crew out of Lego, but that it was (quite rightly) very expensive. Ninjago does this a lot, too, where all the "cool armor pieces", or whatever, are in fact NOT useful for MOCs because they are too specific to the unique character
take this Dreamzzzz villain. it could have been an amazing duster wide-brim hat, useful. nope, it's got a big eyeball in the middle. the scarf flowing in the wind? nope! let's give it a claw outline and little eye holes.
what a missed opportunity. many such cases
>>
>>11721541
You're never going to get 1:1 matches if you're trying to create other existing characters from other IPs, or just shit out of your head, but the sheer amount of generic armor pieces alone, combined with all the helmets and other armor even from stuff like regular castle, and Nexo Knights, and other lines give you a lot of options.

Its definitely worse quality that in it used to be. Lighted, more translucent bricks. But that's because theyve been using clear ABS pellets and they mix them with color pellets instead of the originals having solid ABS colors. The pieces seem a bit lighter and are also produced and molded much faster than they used to be so they have little white parts where the pieces are broken off. Its still way better plastic than most Chinese shit. As long as you keep it out of direct sunlight like in front of a mirror, and in a temperature controlled room the set should last a long time.
