Is it the one with the golem-whatever? That one sucked shit after people were hyping it up. Caveat was whatever. 50-50. Haven't seen his latest but I expect more of the same, if not, Caveat 2.0

The Oddity actress has a new horror/thriller coming up >Carolyn Bracken (Oddity, You Are Not My Mother) stars as Irene, a wealthy, refined art collector who sees her life turned upside down by a tragic event that awakens a primal, uncontrollable instinct inside of her. Soon after, this new nature takes hold and destroys her privileged existence.
The 2020s has been much better than the 2010s so far for horror. It's had more of a traditional horror film influence and the visual creativity is much better.

My Halloween thai pepper seedling is coming along nicely. It should be mature and producing fruit by October. The more it grows, the closer we get to 'Weentime.
>>220394358 It's on the lower end of heat for chili peppers-- about the level of a cayenne. It might be hot for a pepper novice, but far from a superhot or even a habanero.
The more hardcore Halloween pepper is the Hallows Eve chili, which is genuinely flame-spitting superhot at a million scoville units. I hope to grow that one day if my heat tolerance gets high enough.
>>220394656 I had a terrifying vision of a grey alien on the edge of sleep the other day. What made it different was I don't remember "waking", so it seemed real.
>Slanted (2025) This was really fucking retarded. I guess it's supposed to be a body-horror of sorts, especially towards the end. So I'm supposed to believe that they found a town in Texas with ZERO Mexicans? I'm calling bullshit on that. It fails as body-horror, it fails as social commentary, and it definitely fails as anti-white. This movie is completely out of touch with reality. >Ghost Train (2024) This is basically 5 stories that are tied together. The intro & first two stories are about 31 minutes long and below average. The next two stories are really good. The 3rd story about the homeless man is easily the best. Now, the ending story is a mixed bag. Overall, I'd recommend it, if only for the 2 middle stories. >Teeth (2007) This was supposed to be Deform, but I had more time and needed to fill the spot. I didn't like this when I saw it back in ~2008 or so and I don't like it now. It's way more awkward than it was back then and that doesn't help at all. Some people enjoy this movie, but I don't.
What else belongs on this list? I'm looking for more horror that takes place either in/on the ocean, on the beach next to the ocean, or on a deserted island. Hard mode: no sharks or summer camps (I'm making a separate list for those).
>>220396596 >white boy starts yapping about the Asian-American experience Where was it indicated the movie took place in Texas? The movie was filmed in Atlanta and the director chose it because of the spa shootings in 2021. Also, the Cuban family is in the movie. Cubans and Mexicans are all the same to you chuds anyway.

Bonus Island horror:
Island Of Lost Souls The Island Of Doctor Moreau And Then There Were None The Most Dangerous Game Cabin Fever: Patient Zero Tower Of Evil The Lighthouse (2016) The Lighthouse (2019) Island Of Terror Shockwaves She-Demons The Lost Tribe The Pack
>>220399500 The island ones I separated because while they take place on an island, there's usually little or no watery goodness. (there's several c & d grade in the list overall but I got on a roll with themed films here and there)
I watched "The Call of Cthulhu" (2006), and for a modern black and white silent movie it's really not bad. They didn't seem to have much of a budget, but the film is true to it's literary source.
Of course it's a bit of an irony that "The Call of Cthulhu" was first published in 1928, talkies having ended the silent film era the year before.
>>220399626 Still all seem to be the types of movies I'm looking for. Shockwaves, Humanoids and Tormented are great additions, and there's a ton here I haven't seen, which is nice.
I've watched the first 15-20 minutes of this movie and so far it's trash. The MC is also very unlikable too, outside of the initial premise that wasn't even shown but mostly just narrated, nothing has happened other than her being selfish and getting drunk. Where the fuck is the movie? Is it even horror? Is it worth putting up with this shitty start for later payoffs?
>>220400218 It's not short at all, I'll read through a book in one night if I find it engrossing. The issue is when your time is being wasted, on garbage or nothing. I'm just dumping this movie, you can always tell a movie is going to be shit within the first few minutes because it gives you a gauge on writing quality and priorities of the creators.
>>220400263 >dumping good call, these faggots are just shills. You can tell they're redditors by how caustic they are that you dare ask if this obvious SHITNUKE of a "movie" is worth the time. It wasn't and you were right to cast it into the bin where all their children go.
>>220400401 >doubling down Retarded, got it. Not sure why you're even arguing. Say it takes place in Atlanta, show me one public elementary school in Atlanta that is all white. You can't because it doesn't exist. You can argue with yourself, I'm not engaging.
>>220393706 Re-watched "Jason Takes Manhattan" it's pretty good Imo, I know some hate it because there's almost no scenes in the city and most of it takes places in the boat, but I think that's a good setting still the movie isn't as hated as "Jason goes to Hell" tho, that seems like the one people dislike the most, but I haven't seen it in a long time
>>220400489 That cop in JTM is the most Canadian sounding cop in US history. They really couldn't have picked anyone else for such a small role that didn't have or could have masked their accent?
>>220400521 Half of the actors in part 8 were from Canada because it was cheaper, the rocker girl who gets killed early on for example is a Canadian VA, she voiced Gohan in many of the early Dragon Ball Z dubs
>>220400474 What's to argue? The Texas state flag has a star on it. I never said the movie takes place in Atlanta, just that it was filmed there. The movie never specifies where it takes place. Dickhead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5AhU5Q7vH0
>>220387793 Yes. They were expensive. The whole label is OOP and I'm collecting them. They go about $50 a pop and some are high as $100. Lucky there's only about 15 of them. I'm up to 10.
I watched "Lesbian Vampire Killers" (2009). It probably should be on "the list" - it's technically a horror film because vampires, but that's just to have a plot with lots of goo and splattering, hot young women, and some cheap jokes. Anyway, there's worse horror movies than "Lesbian Vampire Killers".
>>220402235 Here's hoping I like it. Oddly enough, I downloaded it on March 23rd and forgot about it. Just downloaded a UHD remux of it and found that out. I should stop stacking movies for later dates.
Hello everyone! I usually only post and watch horror movies on weekends because of my busy work schedule. Hope everyone’s doing well! Any good movies to recommend?

>>220394872 The sequels produced between 1982 and 1996 are real movies, and only "official" sequels, apart from the 2017 Amityville meta-sequel.
>A series of sequels were released throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s through various distributors; some of the films received theatrical distribution, while others were direct-to-video releases. In 2005, a re-imagining of the first film was released.
>Beginning in 2011, there was a resurgence of low-budget direct-to-video independent films based on or loosely inspired by the Amityville events, but not part of the original film series. Only the 2017 Blumhouse production Amityville: The Awakening is a meta-sequel to the originals and to the official 2005 remake.

>>220402569 People were massively over-hyping it, and then others who are just as fake started performatively calling it the worst film ever for contrarian clout. Really it just had some strong elements and some weak ones.
>>220400489 Out of all the characters there I'd say Ghostface is giving Chucky a run for his money when it comes to who has the worse/weakest movies overall, ever since Wes Craven died they don't know what the fuck to do with the franchise
>>220404330 3 was originally intended to be the last one, that's why there's such a huge gap between that one and the rest, if you watch the deleted scenes you'd see that originally Scream 3 had gorier kills but due to censorship they had to reshoot most of them to make them less and less violent to the point that in the final movie most of them are quick throat slits or off camera
>>220404414 The censorship was from the studio because of columbine. Scream 3 was fucked from the start. Williamson getting locked out of being able to write the movie and then the new writer threw out his outline for the movie. Yet, it still has the only single killer and the most important one of the franchise.
>>220404636 Many horror movies have to add more kills during reshoots, same happened in "I know what you did Last Summer" where they added that guy getting a hook through his head and the 1993 "Leprechaun" movie where the original version only had 2 kills and got a PG-13 rating so they added 2 way gorier kills to get a R rating
>A surreal horror film told entirely through commercials Buffet Infinity is getting decent reviews, seems like it could be a WNUF style Halloween watch.
>>220405173 I was skeptical since I'm not a weeb but the original Vampire Hunter D has some actually classic western gothic horror in it. Even with all the sci-fi elements. >>220405300 Faggot.
>>220405342 Traditional Hollywood hates high concept horror, which is why it funds cheap demonslop. Youtubers want to make a movie with a monster in it, simple as.

>>220406163 she's a very straight-laced final girl so the rest of the Scream meta probably dominated the debate. but after so many films it becomes unavoidable just how good she was at it.
>>220406163 When Scream 7 came out the official Xwitter had a link where people could bet with actual real life money if Sidney was going to die in Scream 7 or not, I think that was dumb since no one would bet for her dying unless you wanted to lose your money on purpose Dewey only died in 5 because he's older looking and male

>>220406884 I don't view Mouth of Madness as "Lovecraft". It is more post-modern horror than cosmic horror. It does have a Lovecraft/Stephen King type character, though. More Stephen King, really.
I recently watched the horror movie Sick. It’s overall pretty corny but I had such a respect for the story because the bad guy fucks shit up. But like also gets his shit fucked up. It was so nice to see the antagonist not suck at their job lol.
