Glenda was released with Flash's laser rifle in summer 2024, yet still no Flash. We'll probably be in for a wait with Horrorshow. And that was a good catch. I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out.

If their intention is a low price point then I can excuse the simplicity. Basically whether or not it's worth it depends on the price.

She looks more industrial to me. She looks like the kind of woman you can play Nine Inch Nails "I WANT TO FUCK YOU LIKE AN ANIMAL" around without her getting mad about it.

Specifically she's from the Devil's Due era of the comics that ran through most of the 2000s, and is the second Classified figure from that era after Kamakura. Heartwrencher, a new female Dreadnok from the same era keeps getting mentioned as a possible upcoming figure too. If we're lucky Wraith is a possibility too.
>>
>>
>>
>>11698345
Well the only "big" one they haven't done is Thrasher and there's a few people who wouldn't mind a new V.1 Zartan. If they do a HASLAB Thunder Machine, then Thrasher will definitely be included while Heartwrencher and Wraith are probably safe bets as unlocks.

The original was about a dozen individual pieces of plastic, in 3 colors, with the color-change gimmick. I feel like this is cheaping out for the Classified series, and an inferior product in a premium line. The Zanya/Chameleon set is going to be at least 50 bucks anyway, so a lame Chameleon ticks me off.

It'll fall in between the $60 for a Ghost Viper and $75 for the MMS or Stinger. They won't sell it for less than GV on general principle of keeping prices upward-moving instead of down even though we all know they could sell it for less since it's an apparently simple design.
There are people out there making 3rd-party 3D-printed Swamp skiers. Maybe one of those would be to your liking.

it's pretty tiring to see nobodies being made when we should be getting cool designs instead.
There's a lot of rough diamonds in the GI Joe Vs Cobra line from the 00s that need to be modernized, but modern GI joe fans hate army builders.
>>
>>11699870
A sand viper is a nobody, too. It's not even anywhere near high on the list of Cobra troopers people want. Plus throw in Hasbro's "X" factor where they twice successfully got us to buy all-new Cobra troopers no one even knew they wanted (Ghost Viper and GRIM Viper).

It's just what Cobra-La people look like. Some of the Energon Universe comics have shown Royal Guards unmasked, mostly in Void Rivals, that's probably why they're including some alternate unmasked heads.
If it fits, it would indeed work as a pre-disfigurement Cobra Commander as well.

I ended up with two of these.
Don't want the dogs. I'm sure y'all would crucify me if you knew me IRL, but actually only needed the two heads to customize something else.
The hands will come in handy, and I'm sure I can find some good use for the weapons, his vest and definitely one of the bodies, especially if I can safely get whatever is on his wrist off and match the flesh tone underneath.
It looks like the dogs sell for about $22 to $26+ shipped on eBay. Should I sell them 2 for $25, plus postage? Or sell them individually?
Thanks!

Same here. The helmets just look stupid to me, and I really didn't like the way they sold the female blueshirts as a 2-pack with stupid demon eyes on each of them while no doubt intentionally making them as flat as Keira Knightley to "fight male gaze." Plus the bandolier holsters on the males are over-sized and should be slimmer. The blue-shirts should be the most wanted Cobra troops, but a few little bad details screwed them up.
>>
>>11701296
Don't forget the Retro Cobra Troopers didn't get a new body at all. It's just the modern Classified Cobra trooper with Cobra Officer head and Classified Stalker webgear. Plus it doesn't come with a classic Dragunov nor AKM rifle.
>>
>>11701226
Look up the "sold" prices to see what they actually sold for because sellers routinely ask fuck-whatever prices then sit on what they're selling for a long time. With Law and Order being so plentiful and most likely a future clearance item, I find it hard to believe that people are paying $22 for just the dog.
>>
>>11700582
I always preferred Vipers as a kid, they just have cooler gear and weapons and just look more dangerous. That said, in Classified, I actually like the Troopers more because they have more gear and stowage capacity. Vipers barely have any gear and come off boring because of it. The three pack is nice with all the extra guns and stuff, but again, no way to carry more then one weapon.
Also for the standard classified Vipers, the weird way they did their thigh ribbing just makes them look unfinished. The Retro one fixes it, but the initial vipers just look wrong.
>>11700762
I always liked the idea of all new recruits starting as Troopers and then working their way up the ranks from there. Troopers can become Vipers and Vipers can then go into specializations depending on performance. Though any exceptional candidates would get selected from the Guard, regardless of where they are in the hierarchy.
>>11701296
Only issue I had with the girl troops is the bright yellow webgear. They should've had matching gear and the Yellow one should've been a single pack "Officer" or something.
>>
>>11701226
Like I said in the DC Gen, I'd buy the rest if you only needed the head. I'm not sure how to communicate outside of 4chan to discuss the details.
>>11701429
That's pretty much how I see the ranking too, once you get to viper level you begin the special training for your field, techno viper or tele viper etc etc or you could go into a leadership path and transition from a viper into a guardsman.
>>
>>11701285
Jarrett wouldn't spend $60-70 just to get two heads. Sorry, I might just be another one of your bogeymen (you assholes have also accused me of being subby, and NecaAnon, unless those are more alias for Valley Forge), but I'm not that attention whore. My father's long dead, for starters, and I danced on his grave. I think Jarrett actually plays with the toys with his.

Thanks. I've already marked some auctions and some recently sold for about $15-17. One guy who looks like he's dumping his entire storefront and closing down his shop has two up for auction right now and the bidding is up to $15 last I checked on each.
>>11701448

>future clearance item
You can't find it on clearance on line just yet - BBTS still has it full priced, for example, and probably won't clearance something like this until this year's Black Friday sales, but it's on clearance at Target if you can find one that still has it in stock. That's where I got these, but it took some searching.

In general, I like Vipers way more than the blue shirt troopers. The retro carded ones look the best, but I do like the Cobra Island OG Classified Viper too. The 3-pack ones look too dull, but I do like the Officer.
I actually never liked the OG blueshirt troopers even back in the day of vintage GI Joe. I like the classified ones quite a bit though. There is actually cohesion between the CI trooper, the Infantry trooper, and the female Valkyries, so they look pretty good together. Biggest issue with the Classified troopers is the stupid ass guns with the big holstering peg hanging off of them.
I can also see why some people don't like them though, since they were in that really early phase of Classified where Hasbro was still trying to give the figures "modernized" sci-fi elements. The retro card version should have been a true classic blueshirt though. I actually hate those figures. The webgear is to big and loose on them.

Son, you called me Jarrett.
If you are one of that attention whore's stalkers, then you know he talks about certain things constantly, one of them being his father and how they play with their own toys together and separately.
It was emphasis.
If you took logic and critical thinking at school, if you even went to school, emphatic knowledge and facts would have been taught to as part of good construction of your counterpoints.
Just like they would have taught you that trying to insinuate something about my mental health is just the lazy path of least resistance - getting personal when you don't have logic or facts on your side, for example.
tl;dr sad sad sad

I actually didn't know that since whenever I see one of his walls of text, I just ignore it. Good for him, glad him and his dad get along like that. I wish my dad and I shared a hobby like that, we weren't as close when I was younger, I was never good at physical stuff so that was kind of put a distance between us, but we've gotten closer as we've grown older. Sorry that you and your dad had such a bad relationship. Still, really weird thing to just bring up like that. Two auctions ended earlier today, both $17 (with free shipping), the dog like this, without his gear, but with the spare head, and the dog as seen in the tray with all his gear.
I wanted feedback from actually collectors, but I guess $20 for both, or $10 each, plus postage, would sell based on these two auctions (different buyers, per the bidding).

Wal-Mart is my biggest obstruction to collecting Classified, especially when they get exclusives that NEVER show up in my whole fucking city while other cities are loaded with them. And when a given figure doesn't sell out because the stores that did get it were overloaded with more than what they can sell, they go on clearance. There would be less clearance if the figures were more evenly distributed because a "Ghost Viper" case of a figure selling out in spite of the shit distribution is a rare outlier case.

That was Hasbro's fault because both figures were shitty. They knew they had to sell key female characters but they wanted to fight the "sexist misogynist coomergooner Hitler-penis evil male gaze" by deliberately making them unattractive. Throw in crap like visible leg pins, bad proportions, too much detail put into the bodysuit to modernize it, half-torso armor instead of full torso, stupid gauntlets, and other dumb crap that completely ruined the Baroness.
Did they expect people to want that shit on general principle of at least having some version of those characters? One out of five versions of Baroness is good, and zero versions of Lady Jaye are good. I hope Hasbro fixes that.

Out of ten WM toy sections I have hit, including in neighborhood counties, and other parts of the state, almost none have had end caps like that in the toys department, except for mostly kid-oriented shit - and only when a movie is out, like a Disney oriented display for whatever shit was out during that visit (e.g. Lilo & Stitch live action). Even this past year, for Thunderbolt, BNW, Superman or FF, all they had was their little section/area on the aisles and most WM had little of the "adult collectibles" for those movies.

In the original line Hasbro alsays did a pattern of one Black dude and a woman in each wave, which at the time was the whole year's production. Even though he was a mail-away, William "refrigerator" Perry was that token Black dude of 1987. So I guess Hasbro felt like it didn't need (or want) two Black dudes in a single year.

I suspect they will have the holograms. Bigger series of questions:
1. Are they Joe scale or vintage Visionaries scale?
2. Are they Sunbow and comic style?
>It would be nice if they made the comic book characters that have still yet to get figures after almost half a century.
I think they're edging in that direction based on some of the character choices.
They did say they're expanding the line to 4 figures a wave after testing the waters with just 2 figures.

>non-character
He's been part of the command level of the Joes since 1983, and is who the average person thinks of as the leader moreso than even General Hawk, and even Hasbro itself has projected as the main leader countless times. This is you once again projecting your opinions as an absolute that everyone else should go along with.
>>
>>11706463
just because he's leading the charge doesn't make him interesting.
If he was, you'd be telling me all about his character, instead of confusing him with a Fred who has way more charactirization despite being in like 4 comics.
>>
>>11706473
Just because you don't find him interesting doesn't make him boring. As far as the comic books go he's more interesting than all of that retarded ninja crap that derailed the military theme countless times. Even the damn live-action movies kept derailing the overall theme for ninja flashbacks the general audience just didn't give a shit about.
>>
>>11706370
Confusing Duke with Storm Shadow.
Storm Shadow, Stalker, Snake Eyes and comic exclusive character Wade Collins served in Vietnam together. With Snake Eyes moving in with Storm Shadow at SS's uncle's ninja compound after the war when SE found out his entire family died in a car accident while on the way to pick him up when he came back to the states.
Duke's actual service record was never explored in the original series but given his age, he most likely joined after Vietnam like most of the Joes. Though the RotC film explicitly states he served in the GWOT.
You are only misremembering because the cartoon shoved Duke front and center as the franchise main character while never touching the Hama lore about Snake Eyes and Stalker and Storm Shadowpp

I like how you keep proving how uninteresting the character is by how you try to shit on everything else.
What does Duke do beyond yelling commands and slogans? Does he have any friends? Hobbies? Was he even born from a mother?
>>
>>11706531
what else does reddit say about Duke?
Because i don't think there's anything but surface level characterization about him anyway.
It's been decades since i read the Devil's Due bullshit, but since they tried to merge cartoon lore with the comics, they must given Duke a character in their comics since he was front and center in the cartoon.
Or did they ignore him there too, like Hama's comics?

Duke tends to look "younger" as a recent figure recently. That Super7 Ultimate actually looks older than the Classifieds even if it's a cartoon version.
Not as young, in comparison to other recent Classified figures, as looking at the Retro and then that really neat set of "Hawk" Abernathy but yeah.
>>
>>11706600
so what you're saying is... his entire character is describing what the next scene is going to be about to the children watching the cartoon and yelling slogans?
I can see why you love his character so much.

"soldier" personality who can only yell out slogans and narrate what's going on screen doesn't exist in real life, so of course I've never been around it.
I think it's pretty funny that you haven't once actually described the character that you've been trying to defend. If i didn't know Duke was such a non-character, i'd be accusing you of never having watched or read GI Joe. But since Duke so uninteresting and devoid of personality, you not saying anything actually proves you at least watched the cartoon.
I was kinda hoping to hear that maybe the new Image comics would have fixed that, but it doesn't seem anyone here reads those.
I really miss the discussions we used to have in the GI Joe General, back during its heyday in the 10s. Back then, someone would actually bring up something from IDW or Renegades, because Duke actually had a personality there... not that it wasn't boring too.
Any other oldfags still here who actually watched or read these series?

I like the designs, BUUUUUUT they shouldn't have been used on the toys.
I really liked the Men in Black cartoon too.
I also liked how Cobra became a giant conglomerate, ala Proctor and Gamble, instead of being some Amway business. Makes it more sinister, esecially since giant conglomerates like that were seen as Satanic in the 80s. That perfectly segues into the Cobra-La mythos too, since everything about them is pretty demonic.
If Hasbro/Marvel had used a soulless corporation, instead of sympathetic down on their luck everyman like Cobra Commander who became disillusioned with the American way of life, i guess GI Joe/Cobra wouldn't have been as popular as it got. This may be why n oone really gives a shit about any other Cobra reimagining

Something about the figure looks off to me, but she has existed for quite a while, hasn't she? She had statues of her made years ago, so I don't think she's some "woke" creation.
>>
>>11708583
She was made during the woke years in comics, which begin around 2013, a year before Gamergate. She was made and treated as a woke character in her introduction and people were pissed about her for awhile, and there were people angry that Snake Eyes is a white man, and an issue of the Aubrey Sitterson comic around the same time had Snake Eyes get beaten up by Quick Kick, since he's asian. Eventually they made that Snake Eyes movie where he was asian too. Eventually people started simping for fictional pussy, but the character represents a period of woke bullshit in G.I. Joe and she's seen as an attempt to get rid of classic Snake Eyes.

This is why people are actually able to describe female snake eyes and not the non-character.
Still not sure whether female Snake Eyes is widely known because she's actually a good character or because of outrage though.
Personally, i think she's just okay. Made for an enjoyable story, but it wasn't great or anything like that.

>>11708588
Not true.
Hama killed off Snake Eyes to try and boost sales in his GI Joe continuation, which only existed because IDW was legally required to publish at least one GI Joe book a month or lose the license to all Hasbro properties.
He ultimately introduced TWO Snake Eyes replacements. One was the female Snake Eyes, the other was Wade Collins' son who's status as a ninja via Devil's Due was wholesale ignored by Hama because fuck you and was introduced into Hana's Marvel lore as a generic green shirt rookie Joe who ironically got disfigured around the same time as SE dying and took over the mantle of SE, resulting in the book having TWO Snake Eyes legacy brats.
As for why we are getting girl SE? DEI shit from Black Rock requiring Hasbro put out female figures and the fact that more people liked Collins's Devil Due ninja persona than they did him as SE.

yeah, i normally stay quiet about them, but since you're speaking up....
I get nostalgiafags like old shit, but come on... that shit is awful on purpose. I actually got excited in the 00s when Hasbro "remastered" their o-ring figures with brand new, modern quality sculpts and slightly better paint.
The figures being posted looks worse than the stuff from the 80s. Literally Corps and Bronze Bomber tier sculpts.
I don't understand the want for shit that literally looks worse than what we got in the 80s. Are the people who buy these figures even nostalgiafags who grew up with the line? It's like zoomers who like 2d games with sprite graphics, but don't understand sprite games looked almost like cartoons thanks to how CRTs showed it on screen, but champion the raw pixel graphics like it's so great.
>>
>>
>>11711823
Those 2000s comic packs have really bad quality on the plastics. They feel very brittle and are known for breaking and plastics turning colors, Scarlett's a good example. Some of the new head sculpts in the comic packs are very ugly too.
>I don't understand the want for shit that literally looks worse than what we got in the 80s.

It's primarily one guy who's perpetually online. He's in the Neca and TMNT threads. About a year or two ago in this general he said he started to collect Classified figures, and now he's here. He complains about anything not Classified.

Overall, some cool new reveals but nothing earth shatteringly impressive or important. I'll probably grab most of em, but none of em feel like they're really filling any holes in my collection, just becoming more random figures that need to be fit into a sub-group or fireteam.

I'm not really sure there's any real reasoning behind which Joes the Turtles are dressed as, wouldn't Leo and Don make more sense as Duke and Mainframe?
Some of these look fun though, I think I like the Destro/Krang most.

Bad colors and unpainted rivets notwithstanding it's a better sculpt than the awful original.

Day-1 buy. Unlike Sci-Fi and others that they dulled, I'm glad they went with bright 80s colors.

I honestly don't get it.
I would pay for well sculpted , well articulated figures but why do people buy these?
They rival the old original Star Wars figures for lack of motion and pose-ability?
Is it nostalgia?
. I watched G.I.Joe when it was first airing and to me they are a giant leap backwards.
Who is the market for these?
>>
>>11710562
Although it's good to see the line
These guys are far less well-sculpted than the original figures and where's the frigging Mummy case for the Time traveller? >>11710738
Also same question for those I asked about the "reaction" figures
Why the shitty o-rings?
>>
>>11713451
I think it's for zoomers who want the generation x experience, but not understanding that even generation x thought that shit looked bad, hence gen x rejecting it as soon as better figures were made available.
>>
>>11711852
I always liked the plastic. Felt like they wouldn't break, since they were more rubbery. Literally the opposite of what the 80s and 90s Joes with a bunch of broken thumbs.
I guess people didn't like that they felt lighter?
>>
>>11711823
>It's like zoomers who like 2d games with sprite graphics, but don't understand sprite games looked almost like cartoons thanks to how CRTs showed it on screen, but champion the raw pixel graphics like it's so great.
Yeah, how dare someone like the way something looks.

I'm saying that because they believe people like the chintzy look that that's what you're supposed to like, so they want that the new shit to look just as bad as it used to... but only for the very first few releases and ignore that the sculpt quality improved in less than two years.
Basically, it's fake nostalgia.
It feels like they're mocking the past, rather than actually enjoying it, because of how warped and bad they'er making new figures look.
If you look at other o-ring lines that try and capture that 80s look, they look nowhere near as bad, because they're made by fans who grew up with the 80s stuff.
>>
>>
>>11714566
>You don't like this old thing properly, unlike us TRUE and HONEST fans who DO like it properly because...we just do OK!?!?
Have you considered people can just find old and even sometimes not very good things charming or interesting on their own merits, whatever those merits may be (which for toys especially is highly subjective)? Speaking for myself the Retro/O-ring stuff doesn't overly do it for me, but to play devil's advocate if they based the sculpts on the later, sharper figures you'd basically just have modern figures with worse articulation.
Also your comparison with pixel graphics is a poor one as some people do just prefer how raw/sharp pixels look over the more smoothed out CRT look (which is often exaggerated by CRT proponents anyway). That's not even a matter of finding the drawbacks charming like someone might with a retro-styled toy, it is literally artistic preference. And that's before we touch on games for the GBA or even DS where the screen resolution was low enough to require "pixel graphics" but the screens of the devices themselves still had crisp individual pixels.
>>
>>11714587
>Have you considered people can just find old and even sometimes not very good things charming or interesting on their own merits
yes, and i already said as much.
The problem is that it looks WORSE, hence comparing it to the CORPS and Bronze Bomber shit in one of my earlier posts.
Like i said, it feels like they're just mocking it, because of how bad it looks.
And if people like the mocking art (hence comparing it to zoomers liking the pure pixels that no one actually saw when playing video games in the 80s/90s due to everyone using CRTs)... OK, but don't try and pretend it's actually a good tribute to the (very early) line.
>>
>>11713879
This is the most reasonable explanation I have read.
I got into Joes in my adult life, mainly because of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and for photography and the lack of movement and clumsiness of these makes me shake my head.
>>
>>11714785
>hence comparing it to zoomers liking the pure pixels that no one actually saw when playing video games in the 80s/90s due to everyone using CRTs
Nigger, CRTs did add some smoothing but they weren't magic. Sounds to me like you just want an excuse to moan about those pesky kids to me.
>>
>>11715648
no one said that it's magic.
You're probably thinking of a shitty meme when thinking of my post.
I'm strictly talking about all the pixel art you find in modern figurines, tshirts, etc, which is definitely not how the games actually looked. And again, vintage GI Joes DIDN'T look as bad as what what those nostalgiafag toys look like, because Hasbro had much nicer sculptors. Whereas ReAction's literally look like CORPS crap.
It's warped nostalgia.

except no. They didn't have the ugly proproprtions and the sculpts weren't that soft. Only Corps and Bronze Bomber had sculpts that bad.
Nevermind 9999999999.9% of the nostalgia doesn't come from the straight arm era sculpts, but when the sculpts actually got good.
So like i said, it's like zoomers are trying to relive generation x's experiences, but not knowing what it was actually like.
fake edit: and you can fuck yourself for saying it's not a valid complaint, because who fucking wants ugly sculpts (besides stupid zoomies)? It's the entire reason Hasbro IMPROVED way in the day and sales continued growing.
Shit, if Super7 were actually copying Hasbro's REMASTERED idea from the 00s (the o-ring comic packs, not the 25th figures), where they took the old o-ring figures and used MODERN sculpting to enhance the designs, I'd actually be buying that shit.

Both are objectively shit and outdated, and would be selling solely on lo-fi/retro charm. Claiming shit like pic related is better than whatever Super7 has been making is like saying an injection of syphilis is better than an injection of tree frog poison. Technically true but doesn't really prove anything.
You could make the argument they should be making modern sculpts with O-ring engineering instead, but at that point you're just buying Classified with worse articulation in a mostly dead scale. If you're gonna go for retro appeal you might as well go all the way.
Though frankly the intentionally crap sculpts are the least of the things that would put me off Super7 products given they literally do not make anything good.
>>
>>11717903
>Technically true but doesn't really prove anything.
... it's the entier fucking point, retard.
You're basically arguing that pepsi and coke are interchangable.
The entire fucking point of a nostalgialine is making shit that looks like what it's nostalgiafagging for. I grew up in the 80s, was a huge GI Joe fan, and if super7 timetraveled to sell me their products, I'd think they were the koreans next door to TRU selling me their weird korean toys.
Again, this is why i keep calling this super Corps and Bronze Bomber quality, because even as a kid, i SNUBBED that shit for looking worse than GI Joes. And super7s definitely look worse than even the straight arm shit, even if they have the better articulation (the necks look worse though) that later figures had.

Oh I bet you did, you strike me as someone who would have been an absolute little shit as a child, probably throwing a massive tantrum if he didn't get EXACTLY the toy he wanted.
>And super7s definitely look worse than even the straight arm shit, even if they have the better articulation (the necks look worse though) that later figures had.
Not...really? They actually look LESS mushy and poorly sculpted than the "real" Joes. Less bobbleheaded too. Unless your issue is the cleaner sculpt and matte finish, which is a very subjective complaint.
...This retard is actually making me defend Subpar7. Fucking hell.
